2-48 is pretty ugly, but fortunately the Hogs have a little history built up or I'd say they were pretty much cooked as a franchise. I'm sure the fanbase will be clamoring for change though, and management may have to make a big splash to keep interest after that debacle.

I'm happy to see my Redbacks back on top where we belong. It's wild how stacked the western division is compared to the others. 

I'm really like the new graphics. I think standings need divisional headers, I was confused at first that it was just a 12-team conference. I would also thicken up the team names just a bit as they get a little lost on the overlayed logos. Your new playoff graphics are super unique and creative. Nice work! I didn't immediately notice the bars on top/bottom for the game winner when viewing on mobile and the fact that the first three series were sweeps. I see how it works now, but you could also consider bold/thin game scores as well to further illustrate winners/losers. The inlaid court logo overlays to show home/away is a nice touch. Overall amazing new graphics.

And holy crap. 207-92 is nuts.

Miami Palms vs Texas Redbacks
Fresh off the first playoff success they’d ever had, the Palms came into Dallas looking to keep that momentum going. They were able to hang with the Backs for much of Game 1, putting two defenders on B/K Semarias Garcia whenever he was on offense and, for the most part, controlling the pace of play. Unfortunately, they couldn’t pull ahead, and when Texas got a bit of breathing room in the sixth, that was all they needed. The Redbacks would widen the gap as the game went on, grabbing an 18-point win to start things off. They would really find their rhythm in Game 2, as Garcia was able to spread it around more to his other teammates. W/ZB Larry Whitt led the team in scoring with 32, and F/K Sean Perez and B/C Ares Preciado helped nudge Texas’s score up to 168, taking a commanding 2-0 lead as they moved on the road.

In Sunrise for Game 3, Miami looked to swing the momentum back in their favor, but as they always seemed to, the Redbacks had other plans. Garcia and Preciado locked down the back end of the crease while W/C Elide Amigazzi returned from a groin injury to lock down the front end opposite B/C Tiziano Torres. Miami couldn’t get much going in the end zone either, with guys like Perez, W/ZB Joe Day, and B/ZB Thomas Ridley patrolling back there all night. Former Redback B/ZB Gerald Hartline and F/ZB Peter Schmid tried to keep the Palms in it, but to no avail. Game 4 would go largely the same way, and the Texas Redbacks would advance to play for yet another First Trophy.



Nashville Fugitives vs California Sea Lions
California and Nashville were meeting in the playoffs for the second straight year, and while the Sea Lions swept the Fugitives in two games last year, the first two games made it seem like they knew each other well. California had the upper hand in Game 1, with B/ZB Kenton “Snowy” Snowberger and W/K Will Orleans combining for 86 points contributed, with 35 of those coming from one to the other. Nashville would respond in Game 2, though, thanks mainly to F/C Michel Blanchard, who has been playing better and better as the playoffs have continued. The Frenchman dropped 49 and assisted on another 16, earning the Fugues a split as the series shifted to Tennessee.

California seemed to kick it into another gear on the Fugitives’ home floor, though, and dropped a hearty 160 in front of the Trashville faithful. The Sea Lions took advantage of Nashville’s weaker keeper core, wreaking havoc on B/Ks J.D. Gilley and Will Baker for nearly 50% of California’s scoring. Game 4 was slower and sloppier, and while the Fugues stayed in this one better, the Lions’ defense helped them pull away down the stretch, winning back-to-back road games and taking a 3-1 series lead. With their backs against the wall in Game 5, though, Nashville rallied, with Blanchard seemingly single-handedly willing his team to a comeback to bring the series back to Bridgestone Arena. It wouldn’t be enough, however, as California took Game 6 easily, punching their ticket to yet another NDLCS.
