Attention AHS Community

Our forum here was deactivated yesterday after which we discovered that BoardHost has made a transition to a paid-only service. We unfortunately did not receive any of the notices leading up to this change so we were unprepared. They did, however, grant us a 30 day extension on our board service here while we figure out our options. The new base price would be $16 a month to continue to use the forum here or they will delete it within 30 days.

Our options are basically:

- Continue service here on BoardHost and pool our money to help pay for it. (approximately $16 per month/$192 per year)
- Use this 30 days to transition to a new home...
-- to a similar free service such as ProBoards (however we likely would be unable to transfer our data)
-- or transition to a self-hosted forum that would take some initial work to get set up but we may be able to keep our data to some extent and we'd have full control over it for approximately the same price as paying for BoardHost

Moving Forward:

- Keep your new posting on this board to minimum while we figure out our next move.
- We recommend you personally archive your threads just in case. Using the Wayback Machine is one tool for this. At the very least, make sure you have copies of all of your writing stored somewhere else. Most of the images posted on the site are cloud hosted links but if you don't have local copies, make sure you personally download and save them somewhere. To be safe, make sure you do this before October 22nd!
- We're open to suggestions, please DM a mod.
- We do have our Discord group which is a great place to chat and do things together but isn't great for the type of presentations that we do for our fictional leagues. However, definitely join the Discord while we get all of this figured out. DM a mod for the invite link.
- We will be as transparent as possible during this so please let us know if you have any thoughts, questions, comments, concerns, etc. Thank YOU!
