Yep! There will be, I'll work on a post of the upcoming league events and whatnot.  

As for the CENTRAL submissions update...We are a little lighter than the influx of submissions from the WEST.  Particularly Chicago and Minnesota.

Portland: I guess I've won again! Ruins my pattern of winning one per division but oh well. I wanted a mix of traditional and modern, so the inside shoulder stripe tapers off towards the front to look like a bear claw grasping the player from behind (not like attacking them from behind, but some Nike spokesperson would probably say that the player is surrounded by the totem spirit of the bear or whatever) Glad people like it!

As for where I stand on the football uniform spectrum, I'm definitely somewhere in the middle. I tend to prefer a more traditional design, but do like to see some modernity thrown in there to keep the identity fresh (unless a design is already iconic, like the Bears or Packers, then I wish it remains untouched)

Important League News, Notes, and Upcoming Dates:

Over the last two months we have selected cities, debated team names, designed logos and outfitted our teams with uniforms.  By the end of next week we will have 24 fully formed creations inspired by the imagination of this community.  But as strange as it is to say...the fun is just beginning.  The next few weeks will be extremely exciting in the AltFL.  I wanted to spend a quick minute walking you through some of the big items that will be happening soon.

1 - The Central Division Uniforms : By Friday (June 26) we will reveal the winning uniforms for the remaining 6 teams.  Then you have to spend your Friday night putting together your wish lists because...

2 - The Owner Lottery : On Saturday (June 27) I will post the results of the Owner Lottery in a video.  For those of you who are new to this process, the Owner Lottery will help determine the Owner Draft Order.  The Draft Order is determined by two main point sources.  The first is the Lottery.  I will put into a random name selector the names of all 24 owners.  The first name selected will receive 1 point, the last name left will receive 24.  The second point source is Contribution Points.  If you were responsible for naming a team, designing a logo or uniform then you will get 'bonus points'.  I will put those two point sources together to determine the draft order.    The person with the most points will select first the person with the least will go last.  

3 - The Owner Draft : On Sunday (June 28) I will post a simple graphic that says that the Draft has officially begun.  At that point, the person with the first pick can select the franchise that they would like to own.  Once the person in front of you selects their team you are officially on the clock.  While there is no technical time limit, we politely ask you to check back a couple of times on Sunday to track the progress.  This way we do not have to wait an entire day for one person to pick.  If it is long time waiting, I will reach out to that person and give them a nudge.  If we don't hear from them we will move on to the next pick (I will announce it officially if that happens).  

4 - Develop Your Franchise : The week after the Owner Draft is a time to have fun with your new team.  Immediately following the last pick in the draft you are able to hire your coach (must be a living NFL Coach, CFB Coach, or retired NFL player) - first come first serve.  You can also build your stadiums (1 historical venue for the Legacy Project and 1 for the future).  Or if you want to have a Lambeau type stadium then just build one.  Also you can identify your training camp location (thought that would be fun).  And do whatever you want to give your team character.

5 - The Fantasy League : Remember that both the AltHL and AltFL are fully functioning crowd sourced fantasy sports leagues.  This means that we will be drafting real teams that will compete whenever the NFL comes to play.  I have written up the fantasy rules.  I will post them at a later date.  One important note: If you look around our 'owner's meeting' you will see a lot of faces.  24 teams is an extremely large league.  This means that the talent pool will be more realistic in the sense that it will be a little diluted.  To counteract this issue we will be running a fantasy football league that used IDP (individual defensive players).  If you are not familiar do a quick google.  This serves two purposes.  First, it will make our rosters more realistic with the inclusion of defensive players.  Second, it will almost double the player pool for all of us to choose from, meaning there will be more stars to fill out our rosters.  

6 - The Rookie Draft : Using the opposite draft order of the Owner Draft, we will run a two round snake style draft for just players that we drafted this year.  In future years this draft order will be determined by how each team finishes in the standings (like the real NFL).  Since we are running an IDP league all players are eligible to be drafted (except offensive linemen).  These players will be the first to join your franchise.  I think it would be fun to different 'faux social media posts' welcoming them to your teams like real NFL teams do.  This draft will start roughly July 6.   It will take place on the boards in the same format as the Owner Draft.

7 - The Fantasy Draft : I will eventually send out a form for people to put down their preferences for when the live fantasy draft will take place.  I will then pick a day that makes sense for the most people.  The date will be far enough in advance for you to see it coming. Date TBD. The draft order will be determined by yet another lottery..this time it will be perfectly even.  

8 - AltFL Legacy Project: Like the AltHL we will run a Legacy Project for the AltFL.  This will keep us company as the NFL tries to come back to action.  I will do the match up post following the rookie draft before the Fantasy Draft.  This will then run until it finished.  

9 - Roll Call : The owners that filled out the application are below.  If you are still interested in being an owner in our league please DM you commitment.  We are looking for owners who will be active in our discussions and active fantasy owners (nothing is worse than a team that just sits there all season neglected).  If you are not on the list but are interested in being on the wait list DM me as well.  I will reach out if we drop anyone.  If I do not here from you before the Lottery I will fill the spot.
