Oh please, I’m a denizen if the internet, it would’ve been too obvious to rickroll you all.
QCS, I have no words to describe this curse, I’m just hoping Sidney Crosjesus is our savior at this point. As to all the people trying to calm me down, TRY BEING IN THIS POSITION!!!!!
Oh, and the Uroclub? That might be the only trophy we win at this point.Hey friend, try spending a few years at the very very bottom. It is enlightening and refreshing. Portland has never been so close to inner peace. At least you didn't miss the playoffs with 87 points. I do not care how many times they explain the math to me the points column said 87 and I am sticking to it.
Again, don’t worry, we’ll be down there soon!

Hey, Denver's never even sniffed the postseason, we're happy to be cursing the Racers every year.

I thought that too. Portland and Denver had the honor of making the first ever postseason. But not since then. Just a fun fact. Their time will come.

I totally forgot we made it to the first one! Well, the Hurricanes begin to get good soon so hopefully the Bighorns will get good in kind.

The 2007 Canadian Shield VIII Finals
#1 Montreal Chevaliers versus #3 Vancouver Glaciers
The defending champions jumped out to a commanding 3-1 series lead. With their backs against the wall, the Glaciers mount a comeback for the ages. The 'Three-Toned-Blues' win their second title in the last three seasons. Lindros raises the Shield for the second time (twice more than he ever did as a Flyer).
The 2007 Adams Cup Playoffs
The Founders jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead. The Rovers were able to stave off the sweep but ultimately to no avail. The Great One, Wayne Gretzky, captures his first career championship. The Adams Cup victory marks the team's third title. That makes them the franchise with the most titles in league history.

Special thanks to the Vancouver Glaciers for taking out the Chevs, here’s a congratulatory song about the Chevs’ insane choking after game 4:

Am I dreaming? Or is that — no, it couldn't be — but it is! A Wrangler made the All-Star Roster!

Welcome to the AltHL Legacy Project's 9th year! I did the math...at our current rate the Legacy Project will conclude during the third week of August. That means it will most likely be during the heart of the Stanley Cup playoffs this year. At that time we will start to amp up our preparation for the first 'modern day' season. We will continue to monitor the NHL's plans to proceed with both this season and next to determine how we are going to move forward.
With all of that said, the 2008 season. This was the season that the Carolina Hurricanes hit the ice for the first time. Additionally, the NHL awarded 4 expansion teams to start play over the next few seasons. They awarded franchises to Nashville, Atlanta, Columbus and Minneapolis.
This particular AltHL Draft was a strong crop. Compare this draft to last year's and see how much talent goes off the board. Perhaps this draft could be a foundation builder for some of our franchises that want to turn things around in the next decade.
The 2008 Draft (Host City - Charlotte, NC)
1 - F - Joe Thornton - New York Gargoyles
3 - F - Olli Jokinen - Quebec Owls
4 - G - Roberto Luongo - Chicago Ghosts
5 - D - Eric Brewer - Chicago Ghosts
8 - F - Sergei Samsonov - New York Gargoyles
9 - D - Nick Boynton - Seattle Seawolves
13 - F - Daniel Cleary - Halifax Kingfishers
25 - F - Brendan Morrow - LA Titans
69 - F - Maxim Afinogenov - Winnipeg Arrows
130 - F - Kyle Calder - Halifax Kingfishers
136 - F - Mike York - Philadelphia Founders
156 - D - Brian Campbell - Winnipeg Arrows
Notable Players Drafted but not by AltHL teams -#2 Patrick Marleau (SJ) #12 Marian Hossa (OTT)
