We opened the season with a loss to Roma, which is a bummer. And now we have to head to South Africa, where the Golden Lions of Joburg City 94 await. They also started the season with a loss, so we'll face off with our rivals with both teams looking for their first win. Featured for us this week is Diego Gómez, who was one of the few bright spots for Eye of the Sun FC last week. #ChosenOfTheSunGod

After a close loss in our first game, Atlético will hit the road and head to Athens for the first time in the modern era. AAO looked pretty solid in their loss to Munich, so we should be in for a good one as both teams try to pick up their first points of the campaign. We did get some solid contributions from some of our offseason transfers against Amsterdam; one of them was D James Tarkowski, who registered 4 clearances, 3 aerials, and 3 interceptions while keeping a clean sheet during his time on the pitch.

We got out to an early lead, but that was quickly shuttered by a late performance by Bastille and we dropped points on the first matchday. No matter, because we have a more important match up ahead, our first game at home against our rivals in Eye of the Sun. They also dropped their first game against Roma, and would love to start out the year with a win over us. We've changed our lineup a touch due to some late transfers finally arriving, but one of the players that remained from last year is midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who scored once on three shots and made six crosses that included 3 corners and 2 chances created as our play making midfielder.

One goal from featured player James Tarkowski was enough, as Atlético comfortably beat Athinaikos to pick up our first win of the campaign. Our next fixture brings us back across the Mediterranean, where we'll host our first non-European opponent of the season in Sydney Harbour FC. Harbour looks like a strong team yet again, so we'll have a tough matchup on our hands. We don't want to feature Tark every week, so we'll turn to yet another member of our backline in D Dan Ballard. The Englishman registered 7 clearances and 5 aerials won en route to a clean sheet against AAO.

We went south to face rivals Joburg City 94 and notched the win over the Golden Lions. We look to get above .500 on the season as we prepare for our first home game, welcoming Olympique de Bastille to The Pyramid. We'll be in the main kits for this one as the Arcs look to remain undefeated on the season, and we feature off-season signing Phil Foden, who paced the team on offense last week. #ChosenOfTheSunGod

It was not a good match against our rivals and we start the year without a win. We'll have little time to reminisce what went wrong, as we have to travel to the Netherlands to take on Amsterdam, who are also looking to rebound after a tough loss to Roma. Featured for us is center back James Hill, who held the backfield together with three tackles (two won), seven clearances, and two interceptions against Eye of the Sun.

A win over Olympique brings us to 2-1 on the season, and next on the docket is a home matchup with the defending GEO Cup champions, Inter Istanbul. We're looking for another win in the main kits, and are featuring 19-year-old defenseman Luka Vušković! #ChosenOfTheSunGod

Atlético are still looking for our first home win of the new season, as we fell to Sydney and couldn't even keep it particularly close. We won't get it this week, but that's because we're leaving Camp Nou and heading to Sweden to face IFK Stockholm. The Crowns come into this fixture as the only undefeated and untied team on the year, and would naturally love to maintain that status. One of the men tasked with stopping Erling Haaland will be D Murillo, who played a solid all-around game against Harbour, including 4 clearances and 3 tackles won. Maybe next week we'll feature someone who's not on our backline.

We managed to finally get some goals through, but our bad luck continues as we drop our third straight against Amsterdam. We will see if we can finally get some points without our defense becoming a reliability, and that will have to start at home with our first game against recently-promoted Athinaikos AO. They got their first win at the top flight last week against Roma, and they're looking to extend that into a points streak against us. We're trying to rebound from a horrid first three week, and helping us is one of new signings, ,attacking midfielder Tyrique George. He made an impact from the left flank, scoring a goal on one shot, as well as adding two crosses and created three chances last matchweek.
