We opened the season with a loss to Roma, which is a bummer. And now we have to head to South Africa, where the Golden Lions of Joburg City 94 await. They also started the season with a loss, so we'll face off with our rivals with both teams looking for their first win. Featured for us this week is Diego Gómez, who was one of the few bright spots for Eye of the Sun FC last week. #ChosenOfTheSunGod

After a close loss in our first game, Atlético will hit the road and head to Athens for the first time in the modern era. AAO looked pretty solid in their loss to Munich, so we should be in for a good one as both teams try to pick up their first points of the campaign. We did get some solid contributions from some of our offseason transfers against Amsterdam; one of them was D James Tarkowski, who registered 4 clearances, 3 aerials, and 3 interceptions while keeping a clean sheet during his time on the pitch.

We got out to an early lead, but that was quickly shuttered by a late performance by Bastille and we dropped points on the first matchday. No matter, because we have a more important match up ahead, our first game at home against our rivals in Eye of the Sun. They also dropped their first game against Roma, and would love to start out the year with a win over us. We've changed our lineup a touch due to some late transfers finally arriving, but one of the players that remained from last year is midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who scored once on three shots and made six crosses that included 3 corners and 2 chances created as our play making midfielder.
