I LOVE IT!! Both Wisconsin teams in the Top 15 (and Superior with their second Lake Superior League title!) My dream Super Series matchup is getting closer to reality...
Love seeing the Musicians make the playoffs for the first time ever too...ready to see how contagious Cup Fever is in Iowa.

The Voyageurs seem to enjoy being super mediocre lately. Nice to see Mason City make an appearance though!

One second, Bloomington West is like "You have a terrier, let's call our team the Terriers," and the next they're in the playoffs. I guess the Terriers have the acceleration of a small dog.
Also great to see Mason City in the playoffs.

Nice to see a new face in Mason City! Of course, they’re probably going to get bodied by the Saints, but it’s nice to see them. Anyway, ALL ABOARD!!!

1969 Kellogg Cup Playoffs; Knockout Round
Mason City Musicians vs St. Cloud Storm
It was a high scoring affair with the Storm blowing a 3-1 lead. The Musicians were down after the first, but scored three in the second and one in the third to advance in their first playoff appearance.
New Ulm Bavarians vs Northfield Outlaws
The Outlaws came out strong in the opening period, taking a 2-0 lead after 1. The Bavarians got on the board early in the second, but Northfield buried two more before the end of the period. The diamonds managed to get one in the third to give them a bit of hope, but it was much too late as the Outlaws hold on to win their first playoff game by a score of 4-2.
South St. Paul Mavericks vs Bloomington West Terriers
The most successful team in TCHL history hosted the inaugural Terriers in what turned out to be a double overtime thriller. The first period came and went, but the Terriers got on the board less than a minute into the second to take the lead. The score remained 1-0 at the end of the second. South St. Paul switched things up in the third, and it worked, leading to a pair of goals to take a 2-1 lead midway through the third. The lead wouldn't last though, as West would find a loose rebound to tie things back up and force overtime. One overtime came and went with no scoring. Overtime number two began and neither side really was in control. The Mavericks went down into the Terriers zone and fired a shot from the top of the circle. The shot was meant as more of a dump in than a scoring chance, but the Bloomington West goalie had an issue with the save. The shot hit the goalies stick blade and bounced straight up and over the tender, just barely missing the crossbar on its way down, and landing behind the goal line, winning the game for South St. Paul.
Osseo Screaming Eagles vs Alexandria Norsemen
Alexandria looked to continue to thrive as an underdog, and they started this one looking well on their way to doing just that, leading 1-0 after 1 and adding another early in the second to give themselves a cushion. Osseo wouldn't stay down though, answering with a goal of their own with only a couple minutes left in the second to bring the score to within one. The Screaming Eagles seemed to carry that momentum into the third, striking just over a minute in to tie things back up, then taking the lead just over 5 minutes later. The Eagles would hold on to their lead as the final horn sounded, sending Alexandria home.
Let me know what you think, comments are appreciated!

Diamonds, Terriers, both gone...
At least Mason City survives to fight another day.
