Live look at Geno Pasternak
Lets keep it going Falcons!

Lots of good stuff from this season! The Rockets/Captains goals vs. wins debate in the standings could have some interesting consequences! Maybe this becomes the start of a new major rivalry? I could see it happen if home ice makes a difference in this playoff series, (though to be fair, they would probably have to meet up multiple times in the playoffs for it to be a true rivalry).
The debut season for the Crusaders and Bucks was a nice read, seeing just as different the two teams are in approach. The Crusaders went the textbook route, meaning they are the more "boring" rookie team that focused on defense and lost a lot of games now, but will probably contend for the playoffs within the next 3 years.
The Bucks went for the complete arena approach to distract the fans from how bad they are. They almost come off as a circus act before a professional sports team, but while it won't win them any titles, it probably would make them a LOT of money, which would stabilize that market for the THL. Of course, eventually, to keep making that money, you eventually have to start winning. I'm very curious to see how this team does in year 2 and beyond!
The fact that we've heard nothing about the UHA tells me that they may have finally gone under. If so, it's understandable, but it was fun while it lasted.
As for predictions for this playoff season, here's mine!
Glaciers over Barbarians 4-0: The Barbarians were a nice upstart story this year. But I think the Cinderella run ends quickly.
Rockets over Captains 4-3: Because why not have this explode into a new rivalry over home ice advantage?
Falcons over Kodiaks 4-1: I think the Kodiak's best chances have past them by.
Neptunes over Pioneers 4-2: While the Neptunes seem weaker this year, they are still the defending champs!
Glaciers over Rockets 4-1: I think the Rockets run out of gas after a tough series with the Captains.
Falcons over Neptunes 4-2: We get an all Yubay finale again! Falcons outlast the Neptunes.
Falcons over Glaciers 4-2: I think we see the Falcons win around their gameplanning around Pasternak in a great series!

Alright Kirlow, let’s pull off an upset. By the way Steelman how do you simulate this

Glaciers on top again, ya love to see it. Hoping those darn Falcons get taken out early, as much as I hate it, Pasternak is really freaking good and I'd feel nervous about the Niko Siders taking him on.

Finally caught up in reading this, let me just say that this thread is excellent. The story-telling is wildly entertaining and the league is aesthetically beautiful. Spectacular job so far.
I've been hesitant to be a fan of any team, but after reading about the Bucks first season and seeing their absolutely crazy logo, I'm kind of falling in their corner. But, more than anything, I enjoy seeing how the league(s) evolve(s).

In short, I organize info, rosters of player ratings, staff, etc using Google sheets and take each teams overall season score into a simulator called Xkoranate to tabulate season results, and then individual matchups for the playoffs.

We're not quite through the drama yet.
1979 UHA OFFSEASON

Before the season even started, five of the six UHA franchise owners met together without league president Barry Boyle to discuss their options as the teams and the league were teetering on the verge of financial collapse despite Boyle's refusal to acknowledge it. The lone holdout in attending was Alko Wildcats owner Mike Rosenberg who wanted to remain loyal to Boyle. The other five owners unanimously voted to apply for entry into the THL. Just before the first game of the season, entry proposals from all five teams landed on THL Commissioner Hatch's desk, who promptly denied all of them. Barry Boyle found out about it shortly afterward and was incensed enough to file lawsuits against the five teams. With the new season in jeopardy, the rogue owners relented in their pursuit.
A potential breakaway league from the breakaway league, I like it!

Congrats to the Swans! Hoping they can all get in to the THL and go Kodiaks!
