Re: AltHL Legacy

Do the Canadian Shield and Adams Cup trophies have physical depictions?

Not a bad decade for me. I got one team on top (Toronto), one at the bottom (Montreal) and one in the middle (Boston). Not bad at all. Here's to the 2010s, and all the glory of the future!

BTW, Gritty if you could put me down as an owner for future expansion, I'd be honored.

Same here if any owners don’t show up, count me in for a spot

Seeing these things bring me crippling depression.

Re: AltHL Legacy

Wow, good for Bourque I'm glad he actually made the team. Only if we had won some more games in the post season for him, I mean look at our record, Philadelphia had 3 less playoff appearances and 12 more wins, Boston had the same amount of appearances but 9 more wins, both Seattle and LA only had 4 appearances but both had more wins than us. We could've, should've done a least a bit better, it's not as bad as Charlotte, but man if we had made 2 more appearances we might be in the same realm as them. It also hurts to see my 2 rivals, the Rovers and Founders manage to get higher than me.

You know what Portland always says. "8th in the league, and 8th in your heart! We love you PORTLAND!"

Re: AltHL Legacy

It's certainly been a freaking roller coaster these past 10 weeks. Going from missing the postseason the first two seasons to winning a cup in '02 to finishing last in the east in '03, bouncing back, but coming up just short in '04, missing the playoffs again in  '05, then grabbing back to back championships in '06 an '07...it's been a wild ride.

If memory serves me, it's about to get all kinds of terrible for the Founders in the coming seasons.
It was nice to be on top for a little bit, though. Here's to the next decade!

Re: AltHL Legacy

The 2010s, at least, are going to be good for the Seawolves.

Re: AltHL Legacy

It is time to embark on the next ten years of the AltHL Legacy Project.  By the end of this project we hopefully will be approaching the start to the first fantasy AltHL Season.

Now let's move on to the 2010 Season.  Since people have wondered who they were picking in the draft...I will include  the first round pick of every team regardless of how notable they were.  I will then include notable draft picks after that.

The 2010 Offseason
IRL this was the first year of the Atlanta Thrashers.  After the retirement of Wayne Gretzky the NHL retired the number 99 across the league.  The Hurricanes finally moved into their official home in Raleigh.  The Kings entered the Staples Center for the first time.

The 2010 Draft
4 - F - Pavel Brendl - Founders
5 - F - Tim Connolly - Ghosts
7 - F - Kris Beech - Seawolves
8 - F - Taylor Pyatt - Ghosts
9 - F - Jamie Lundmark - Founders
10 - D - Branislav Mezei - Ghosts
13 - F - Jani Rita - Sawblades
16 - D - David Tanabe - Bighorns
17 - D - Barret Jackman - Rovers
18 - F - Konstantin Koltsov - Racers
20 - F - Barrett Heisten - Arrows
21 - D - Nick Boynton - Gargoyles
22 - G - Maxime Ouellet - Glaciers
23 - D - Steve McCarthy - Kingfishers
24 - F - Luca Cereda - Wranglers
25 - F - Mikhail Kuleshov - Chevaliers
-------------------------------------------------------
42 - D - Mike Commodore - Loons
138 - G - Ryan Miller - Arrows
165 - G - Michael Leighton - Kingfishers
180 - F - Tore Vikingstad - Rovers (of Olympic Team Norway fame)
210 - F - Henrik Zetterberg - Terriers
212 - F - Radim Vrbata - Chevaliers
222 - F - George Parros - Owls
---------------------------------------------------------
Notable Non AltHL Draft Picks
1 - F - Patrick Stefan - Thrashers
2 - F -  Daniel Sedin - Canucks
3 - F - Henrik Sedin - Canucks
26 - F - Martin Havlat - Senators
44 - D - Jordan Leopold - Mighty Ducks

Who was the best player in this draft? The Sedins? Zetterberg? Miller?

Re: AltHL Legacy

The Sedins and Zetterberg tie in my opinion. The power in those three players makes this draft insane.
