1937 Kellogg Cup Finals
Game 1: The Hounds let Duluth know they weren't the Hibbing teams of playoffs past, easily winning 3-0.
Game 2: Duluth bounced back a bit but was still short of a road victory.
Game 3: With the series heading to Duluth, Le Bleus got a bit of a push with the help of the local crowd and won their first game of the series.
Game 4: The Greyhounds came out aggressive and were able to hold the Voyageurs to only one goal as they took a 3-1 series lead.
Game 5: One win away from their first Kellogg Cup, and back on home ice, the city of Hibbing was buzzing. The Hounds delivered for their fans as they shut out Duluth and ended the teams history of choking in the playoffs. The Hibbing Greyhounds are your 1936/37 Kellogg Cup Champions!

Maaaan, congrats to Hibbing for breaking through their drought but I felt so good about the Voys before the series.

Hibbing's years of playoff ineptitude were bound to end one of these days!

I am too, I'm hoping to finish my series over on the CCSLC soon so I can resume this!

Prior to the 1937/38 season there were a couple of changes. The defending champions from Hibbing simplified their uniform, now it is just a thin center stripe with thin sleeve and sock stripes and orange shoulders on the navy jersey.
Virginia also made some adjustments to their look, adding white to their color scheme. Their logo now has white outlines, and the striping is adjusted to add some white.

The 1937/38 season concluded and here are the stories.
Iron Range Hockey League: The Greyhounds remained at the top of the league and Ely remained in second. The Reds improved up to third and the Royals fell to fourth. Chisholm just missed the playoffs, and Soudan and the Rangers finished at the bottom of the league.
Lake Superior Hockey League: Thunder Bay finished in first, becoming the first non- Minnesotan team to finish in first in their league. They were followed by the Hornets and Voyageurs from Duluth. Grand Rapids cinched the 4 spot and a playoff birth, and the Timberwolves missed the playoffs for the first time in recent history. The Lakers and Broncos finished at the bottom of the table.
Twin Cities Hockey League: The Saints finished atop the league for the second straight year with the Victorias in a close second. The Twin Cities Vulcans reemerged this year as a potential competitor as they finished third. The Mavericks fell down to 4th place but still clinched a playoff birth, and the Minneapolis Hockey Club finished in the basement.

Game 1: The Giants came out strong, controlling the flow of play the whole game and taking game 1 3-0.
Game 2: Thunder Bay continues to roll over opponents, winning 3-1.
Game 3: The Greyhounds bounced back on home ice, getting back to within one in the series.
Game 4: Hibbing squeaks out an overtime victory to tie the series.
Game 5: The Giants are able to hold off the Greyhounds who are buzzing after back to back victories.
Game 6: Back on home ice and with their backs to the wall, the Hounds are able to win despite only scoring once, forcing a game 7 across the border.
Game 7: Thunder Bay was just too much for the Hounds to handle as they blew by them with a 2-0 victory to claim their first Kellogg Cup!

Prior to the 1938/39 season, the St. Paul Saints made a big change to their identity. The Saints made green much more prevelent on their uniforms, added a thick red chest stripe, and adjusted their script "St. Paul" logo.
So the Saints, like a handful of other teams in this series, were real teams at some time in history. I stumbled on these images of the Saints in 1939 and thought it would be cool to have the Saints wearing what they actually wore that year. They could eventually go back to their old script and simplify their jerseys in the near future.
