Kansas City Jazz - KC was the place where big band jazz evolved into bebop.
Los Angeles Citrus - SoCal is notable for its oranges and this name boasts some zesty potential jerseys.
Second - Louisville Derbies - The Derby City hosts the Kentucky Derby. The derby as a hat is also stylish.
Florida Citrus - Florida is also known for its oranges and limes.
Wisconsin Haymakers - How else will you feed all those dairy cows?
Minnesota Augers - The only thing bigger than ice fishing in Minnesota is Paul Bunyan.

Hey everybody just looking over submissions. You are more than welcome to get creative with the Location Indicators however just wanted to remind you that there are a few states that have multiple teams so Missouri, Florida, Texas, California may get murky if you use the state name. Just a thought but it's not without precedent. Florida Panthers, Florida Marlins (until the changed) Texas Rangers, California Angeles (until they changed), etc.

Kansas City Hogs: Fitting for the BBQ capital of the world. Hogs are pretty big and rugged, and reminds me of an offensive linemen.
Los Angeles Stars: Is it a little cliche? Yes. Yes, it is. However, I've wanted a L.A. Stars teams since I suggested it for the AltHL. There simply isn't a more fitting name to be had for L.A. IMO.
Louisville Cornhuskers: I know it seems a bit random, (and a steal on Nebraska's team name). However, there is history here. The first known European settlers to settle in the close vicinity of modern day Louisville went to a (now submerged) island called Corn Island, named presumably for it's importance in farming. Hilariously, the name of this island is believed to have been partly named as a ruse, as Corn Island also had a military post there. Cornhuskers is probably the only corn themed name that could work here, plus it's a little different from the Kentucky Derby theme we've seen a lot of.
Miami Flamingos: I know Mingos was listed, but I'm going full on Flamingos here. Literally only because I want to see someone find a way to put pink on a football jersey and still look tough. Okay, so I also picked this because I like Flamingos and they are definitely a Miami bird. Not a tough animal at all, but then again, nobody fears a Dolphin either, (unless you're Hank Hill anyway.....)
Milwaukee Bulls: It's generic-ish, but I think that works for Milwaukee, and it's a strong animal that's fitting for a football team. Plus, my original pick, Chieftains, would likely be DQed for being too close to Chiefs, and my second pick, Hogs, is being used for K.C.
Minneapolis Walleyes: The official state fish. That's all I got, there's already a ton of great ideas for Minneapolis, (as usual).

Kansas City Diesels: Locomotives in the midwest? Honestly I've just seen this as a concept before and loved the name.
California Surfers: People surf in California
Kentucky Pioneers: I had originally thought of Jockeys but someone beat me too it. One thing though is that I can’t see a Louisville franchise going with anything but Kentucky, the few professional teams they’ve had have all gone with Kentucky over Louisville. I had a bunch of ideas for this but I settled on Pioneers to honor Daniel Boone, Abraham Lincoln and Muhammad Ali, who are all pioneers in their own right. Also, QCS is to Charlotte as I am to Louisville, while not my home town, it’s as close as I’ll get, this is the team I’m most excited about.
Miami Hammerheads: A modern twist on Sharks and a unique one found in the waters of the Gulf and the Atlantic.
Milwaukee Imperials: Reusing my AltHL suggestion
Minnesota Ox: I might use this name in my own league but I'm pretty sure I'm aloud to use it here, but if I can't then Legends, referring to the legend of Paul Bunyan and Babe.

Interesting. Is there any reason for this? Maybe to avoid alienated people who don't care for Louisville (the college), but then it seems like LVL fans wouldn't like something named for Kentucky.
While I personally think "Louisville" sounds better, I'll definitely default to a local on this. On CCLSC I got into a discussion on this topic and generally came to the conclusion that it works for specific references (Carolina Panthers, Texas Rangers) or to avoid local rivalries (Minnesota), but it doesn't work as well outside of those contexts.

As I live near L.A., I feel strongly about a team name. L.A. has no pro team that actually REPRESENTS L.A. Most of L.A.'s pro teams came from other cities, so their names reflect as such. The only team that comes close is the Los Angeles Angels, which 1) are NOT in LA, and 2) is kind of redundant. The L.A. team name should reflect either Hollywood, the beach, or inner city life (which I would LOVE, no team does that). No boring common animal names like Wildcats or Sabers, please.
Hollywood Blockbusters is awesome. LA Shooting Stars is great too.
Miami Neon and Miami Lights are great, should be a very colorful look.
I second the Flamingos pink! The Miami team should have wild colors that reflect their city.
Some names I thought of:
LA Hardcore
LA Riot
LA Underground
LA Grind
LA Syndicate
LA Cartel

Honestly I can't say for certain, but Kentucky as a state, at least to me, feels much more united than other cities, we're not southern, were not northern, were not Louisville or Lexington, we're Kentucky. Unlike New York, or LA or Chicago, or even cities like Charlotte which is more comparable to Louisville, Louisville doesn't have its own culture as much as Kentucky has its own culture. I think that makes sense. Kentucky as a place is also much more recognizable throughout the world. Kentucky Derby, Kentucky Bourbon, Kentucky Fried Chicken, (I know this is specified to UK but the amount of UK fans compared to Louisville in the rest of the state is crazy, there's probably UK fans throughout the rest of the state by far) and Kentucky Basketball. Louisville isn't as well known as Kentucky is

Huh, interesting. I've never been to Louisville (though I have been to Mammoth Cave, an awesome experience and I even stayed in the concrete wigwams nearby) but Kentucky does occupy a strange space on the map. I have a hard time grouping it with the Great Lakes, but it's not quite Southern like Tennessee or North Carolina. It's not even Mid-Atlantic like Virginia is, it just kinda occupies the space there. Very interesting, I'd like to check Louisville out if I ever get the chance.

Louisville Boxers (Muhammad Ali is from Louisville)
Miami Stingrays (Stingrays are native to South Florida waters)
Wisconsin Cheese Eaters (Someone said beaneaters for Boston so why not Cheese Eaters for Wisconsin?)
Minnesota Prairie Dogs (Prairie Dogs are native to the state)
