Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Once again, you knocked it out of the park here!

1. As a Phoenix Suns fan from childhood, I am SO happy to see a purple and orange team in the league.  That Fox logo is so dear, and it's Interesting to see the same arena host two different teams in multiple leagues (at least until Anoka's arena opens ten years from now).
2. The Canucks brand is simply DELIGHTFUL!  I'm ready to see how far this team goes...I wonder what the atmosphere will be like should they ever face a Canadian team in the Super Series?
3. So, the Terriers started a trend of teams named after a dog owned by one of their players. (I wonder if any untapped towns have a player who owns a Siamese cat?)  Anyway, red and green are a very underrated color scheme, even if most folks will think of it as Christmas-y.
4. We gotta have at least one classic-looking team...and the Gunners fit that profile very well.
5. MY NEW FAVORITE IDENTITY IN THE LEAGUE...I can't wait to see how far New Brighton goes, because I know they'll utilize their Dots motif as strongly as New Ulm does their Diamonds one.  (Here's to plenty of polka dot banners from the rafters!)

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

The new teams are great! I really like the unique striping for the Dots. Great work!

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Okay, the New Brighton Polka just made my top 5 favorite teams in the story list just for the sheer ridiculousness of the jersey, (and I mean that in a complimentary way.  There's no reason why that jersey should look good with all the polka dots on it, yet it actually looks pretty cool).  Well done once again!

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

The Polka jerseys are wild and I'm here for all of it. Well done!

I also really like that Foxes logo.

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Thank you everyone for the kind words, I had a feeling the Polka would be a fan favorite just for the uniqueness of it all. I expect to see a lot of "unique" jerseys in New Brighton's future

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

1. I love Fridley's colors, and the rest of their identity is just icing on top for me.
2. Little Canada is clean. Nice work.
3. Maplewood decision process. "We wanna play hockey. What should we name the team?" "Jerry, your dog Lumpy just passed away, what if we were the Retrievers?" "Yeah!"
4. I like the Mounds View MV logo.
5. I come from a historically polka-influenced area, so the Polka are welcome in my book.

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

On to our final expansion league, the South Metro Hockey League

There is one former member of the Twin Cities Hockey League
             - Burnsville

The only change made to the Bucks was swapping home and aways.

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Apple Valley, like most of the other teams in the South Metro, are smaller than most of the other cities in the other Metro Leagues, but they are growing at a rapids pace, sitting at just under 10,000 people. The Cardinals will play their home games outdoors on Farquar Lake.

They will be called the "Cardinals" referring to their colors of cardinal and white. Their logo is a stylized AV for Apple Valley, but they use the towns name circled by the players number on the front of their sweaters.
