Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Before we get into the new leagues and expansion teams, here is how the Twin Cities Hockey League will look in the upcoming season. Divisions are gone and old rivalries are reborn with the Millers and Bakers re-joining the rest of their historic rivals.

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

So, the perennial cellar-dwellers in Falcon Heights are stickin' around with the historic powers (and the Bakers)...I trust they know what's best for them and that it'll pay off in the long run.

It'll be interesting to see which leagues the other eleven teams join, as well as who the 21 new expansion teams will be...

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Wow, 21 new teams in one offseason! That's crazy! I'm sure they'll all look great as is tradition for the MAHL at this point, and I can't wait to see where they end up!

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Lets start off with our first expansion league, the West Metro Hockey League.

There are four former members of the Twin Cities Hockey League
                - Bloomington
                - Bloomington West
                - Edina
                - Minnetonka

Like the rest of the new leagues, the West Metro League will be using dark jerseys on the road, so Edina and Bloomington West simply swapped home and aways.

The Bears added tv numbers to their sleeves, but left the rest intact.

Minnetonka tweaked their uniforms, adding their logo to the front of their home jersey and putting the "Tonka" text on the new dark away. Green is minimized to an accent color, changing the breezers to blue and making the shoulders white on the blue jersey.

New

Old

Let me know what you think, comments are appreciated!

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Eden Prairie is a relatively small town still, currently at around 7,000 people, but it is growing at a rapid pace. EP borders Bloomington, Edina, and Minnetonka. The Pumas will play their home games on Round Lake.

The team will be called the "Pumas" named after the species of big cat. Their logo is the towns initials EP and their colors are navy and gold.

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Hopkins is a town of over 13,000 located next to Edina and Minnetonka. Hopkins is home to The Blake School which has had its fair share of success in the Private High School Hockey Tournament for years now, so hockey culture has been in Hopkins for some time now. The Tigers will call 600 seat Blake Arena home.

The team will be called the "Tigers" and their colors are black orange and white.

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Richfield is one of the bigger cities in the State of Minnesota at this point, with a population of over 47,000. Located between Minneapolis, Edina and Bloomington, Richfield looks like a team to watch right out of the gate. They will play their home games at the 1,300 seat Richfield Ice Arena.

The team will be called the "Roosters" and their colors are red and yellow. Their logo is a Rooster head in a yellow circle.
