The Atoms knocked off the Sidewinders to lock up the top spot in the NL, meaning we'll have home-field advantage up through the World Series. Our first opponent will be the New York Blackbirds, who are red-hot coming off a huge win over the Masons to clinch this spot in the first place. Despite their fourth-seed status, they'll be a difficult team to beat, and anything can happen come playoff time. As we always to come playoffs, we feature our top players from the regular season, and the very best was 1B Pete Alonso. The Polar Bear hit .267, mashing 33 homers for 94 RBI, both team highs, while also drawing 70 walks. #UpAndAtom

As the playoffs are now in progress, it's time to celebrate our players that carried our teams through the season. Rather than do a single "team" that wouldn't honor a guy like Yordan Alvarez, who finished in third overall in points scored in the league, but is at the same position as the player that finished in first, the AltLB has decided on a Honor Roll system, where all players over a certain threshold get the distinction of being honored. So to make the honor roll, you would need 400 points or more, to get High Honors the player would need 500 points or more, and Highest Honors would go to any player that scored 600 points or more.

As always, this is based on games played. For example, San Diego Pandas infielder Miguel Vargas finished with 499 points. Since he earned points while he was on the bench throughout the season, so those points while he was benched do not count, and Vargas falls into the Honors section.

Eighty-four total players were honored, with sixty-four falling in the Honors section, seventeen earning High Honors, and just three earning Highest Honors.

A close win over Detroit sends us to the Championship Series round for the 5th time in 5 years. And in every season previous that we beat Detroit in the playoffs we went on to win the Alt Series. To get to the Alt Series this season we have to go on the road before the Alt Series for the first time ever, as we head to Phoenix to take on the Arizona Thunderbirds. The Thunderbirds have been a really good team all season, and have two convincing wins over us this season, so we'll need to win the most important matchup against the Thunderbirds this week. We'll be in the standard road uniforms this week, with the main cap and navy jerseys with the gray pants. Featured this week is pitcher Trevor Rogers, who pitched well for us against the Deacons last week, going 13.1 innings, striking out 11, and allowing 5 earned runs en route to a win, a loss, and a quality start. #WeAreOK

It's the AltLB Championship matchup that's been brewing for five years! 

Baseball Stickman came out of hiding today, with a "threat" that could only be described as... weird and cringy.  Even for Stickman standards.  Baseball Stickman, who like the other Stickmen not named Regular Stickman, have been trying to avoid Regular Stickman and his "Stickmen Hunters", lately, came out in full on high school band gear (that was much too small for his beer belly) as he marched the mean streets of Oklahoma City playing the tuba (badly) and loudly declaring, "It do be the time now... For Daniel the Tiger's ultimate punishment!  He disrespect me one time and must now do be pay the price!  My Blackbirdies clobber the M. Bisons worse than Ryu did in Fight Streeting!  We beat them so bad... That he regrets the day his mommy laid eyes on his daddy!  Speak on that, who be your daddy now, M. Bisons?!  It be me!  MEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!"

Joining Baseball Stickman in his quest of annoyance were the rest of the Stickmen (Basketball Stickman was twirling along, ballet style- for his documentary of "The Last Prance", a clear knock off of The Last Dance-and much worse, Football Stickman looked like he was plotting to kidnap Jerome Bettis again, Hockey Stickman was threatening to sue the city of Okalahoma City for existing, no signs of College or Soccer Stickmen though). They were joined by a strange collection of Stickman lackies, including a guy best known for holding the world record for loudest fart ever,  the Crockettes, and at least three of Hockey Stickman's personal trailer park psychics. 

They stopped in front of Cox Ballpark and together, they belted out a tune (if one could call a group of Mr. Beans "harmonizing" as a tune)... I'm sorry to whoever sang "In the Jungle". 

"IN THE CITY!  IN O K CITY! WE BEAT THEM, A PITY!". Then, as the Crockettes did their line dance, lifting their legs high, Basketball Stickman harmonized to a surprisingly beautiful falsetto, before coughing a moment, then singing like gravel again.

Finally, the authorities came and shoo'd them all away, using a high pressured hose connected to a fire hydrant.  As he fled (bravely, he would claim later), Baseball Stickman yelled his final words, "This could be our final championship match!  So leave big impact, do weeeeeeee!!!!!  Beware the ires of marching Stickmen!"

And with that, the Blackbirds will wear their away jerseys.  Best of luck Dan, let's have a great match and play ball!
