Re: All-American Association Football League

Founding club Boston Shipwrights secured a return to the Ultimate Division, outdistancing the field by 6 points.  Trenton Cannons ended up in a four-way tie for the second promotion spot, their +18 Goal Difference being the deciding factor.  It marks the first time for the Cannons to play in the top division.  Newly promoted Nova Brittania came in an ever-so-close third place, narrowly missing a second straight promotion. The other club promoted from the Regional level, Louisville Lieutenants barely survived the relegation battle, finishing 3 points in the clear.  New York Fomorians suffered a complete collapse after dropping down from the Ultimate Division.  Their 25 points meant that they will be playing next season in the Eastern Regional alongside fellow demoted Ilium of Troy.

Eastern Regional Division
Paterson Blue Boys won the slugfest with Green White Hanover and Pawtucket Millwheels to earn promotion to Penultimate Division.  Newly promoted Bridgeport Bigtop had a impressive season, finishing only 1 point out of 2nd place.  With two clubs moving down from the Penultimate, it meant that three clubs would need to be demoted to the Sectional Level. Jonkheers FC and Providence Silversmiths knew that they would be relegated, but it also turned out that United Mancunians would have to drop as well, their goal difference being inferior to newly promoted Erie Flagships.

Mid-American Regional Division
Covington Bajuwaren followed up on the 2nd place finish in the previous season to earn promotion by outdistancing the previously relegated St. Paul Boreads.  A 2 point difference was all that kept St. Paul from bouncing right back to the Penultimate Division.  The two clubs promoted up from Sectionals - Youngstown Gallowglasses and East Chicago Inlanders - finished respectably at the middle of the table.  At the bottom, Grand Rapids Woodwrights and Coal City Cleats were the unfortunate duo scheduled for demotion.  Coal City's fall was by the slimmest of margins, a goal difference one worse than Madison Iceboats.
