Welcome back to college football season! The Johns Island Angels are back to avenge a heartbreaking semifinal loss against eventual champion Hallows. We're also back in the Southern V this year, although it looks a lot different. (Some folks are calling it a "pack twelve", but it was hard enough to pack five teams into this conference.) Our first game, however, is against our erstwhile ECC rivals, St. Laurent. With the warm temperatures outside this weekend, we'll of course be wearing white at home, and our first feature of the year goes to RB Makhi Hughes, who led last year's team with 1,291 rushing yards and 17 total TDs. #HadMeAtHalo

The Hawks went out to Pennsylvania and knocked off the Hershey Wildcats, who eliminated us from the playoffs last season. I'd say it was revenge, but they played for the title last season. But we start 1-0 this season, and now head back home to Honolulu and welcome the Boys from Bend to the beach, as we open SuperWest play against the Deschutes Pronghorns. We're in all white, as usual, with the white helmet, white jersey, and white pants. We're not monsters though, we've got red socks. We're featuring TE Terrance Carter, as big number 7 had 42 yards receiving, but got 2 of those catches into the end zone. #BeachBirds #TikiManIsEternal

The Angels kicked off our season on the right foot, beating St. Laurent to jump out to a 1-0 start. It was a pretty lackluster week for most of our offense, but not for QB Colton Joseph. Making his first ever start at the college level, Joseph broke off two 75+ yard touchdown runs to lead the team to victory. Now we head into conference play, where we'll face the only other team in the Southern V that's actually in the South: the Kentucky Tech Gryphons, who are coming off a win over Ohio A&M in their AltCAA debut. Following a Super West Conference opening win over Deschutes, we head east to Ohio A&M to take on the Fightin' Muskrats as we put our undefeated standing on the line against our winless opponents. Our featured player this week is wide receiver Germie Bernard. #BeachBirds #TikiManIsEternal

The Angels finish up our first two games at home with a 2-0 record after defeating Kentucky Tech to open up conference play. Now, we head to the heart of the American South - Buffalo, New York - to face off against the only other non-tech school in the Southern V, the Buffalo State Stampede. The Stamps will be looking to pick up their first AltCAA win in their first AltCAA home game, while we'll be trying to spoil their party. The biggest threat in that regard is probably standout RB Robert Henry, Jr., who's been electric these first couple weeks. Henry ran for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Gryphons, and because that apparently wasn't enough, he picked up 21 yards and another TD through the air. #HadMeAtHalo #TheMatterIsSimplyOfGreaterImportance
