Re: AltLB - 2025 Season

The Atoms opened the second half with a dominant win over the Colts, opening up a huge lead and never looking back. No time to dwell on that, though, as we've got the most important stretch of the season upon us, with two of our next three games coming against the Boston Masons. Boston is just two games behind us in the standings, so this is an opportunity for them to tie the race up, or an opportunity for us to all but put things away. For the third straight week, we're featuring an outfielder, as OF Ramón Laureano hit three homers and drove in 08 runs against Kansas City. #GoldBars

Re: AltLB - 2025 Season

It seems as if our former home in the AL is our kryptonite, as Detroit got the upper hand in a barn burner and handed us our second loss on the year. We'll have a chance to rebound in a battle of the birds in Los Angeles, as the Condors are a game out of the playoffs at the moment and are looking to earn their way back in a very tight race. Featured for this week is RP Anthony Bender, who slotted in incredibly in our very thin bullpen, earning a save and 3 holds in 5 IP and 5 K's without allowing a single run. #Thunderstruck

Re: AltLB - 2025 Season

A win over the Griffins and a loss by the Thunderbirds puts us 2 games up for the top seed in the AltLB Playoffs, and this week we face the Detroit Deacons. We can lock up the American League with a win this week, as it would put us 5 games up on the Deacons with 5 left to play and the season sweep in hand. It won't be easy however, as the Deacons have been lighting up the scoreboard of late. We'll be on the road and in our standard khaki road uniforms, and are featuring relief pitcher Edwin Diaz, who went 4.2 innings, striking out 9, and pulling in a win AND 4 saves. #WeAreOK

Re: AltLB - 2025 Season

And the Bison finally take a loss, as the Deacons brought some hot bats, and we didn't bring effective pitching. The American League, and the AltLB on the whole, is still ours to lose, as with 5 weeks left, we're 3 up on the aforementioned Deacons, and still have a game on the Thunderbirds AND the tiebreaker. We go from Detroit and head over to Montreal for our first, and only, game this season in Canada. The Saints come into this one with the worst record in the AltLB, but we simply can't take it easy. We'll be in the standard road khakis, and are highlighting pitcher Zac Gallen. Zac has had a rough season, but has shown some signs of getting back to his old self recently, including last week when he went 6 innings, allowing only 2 earned runs, striking out 3, and notching a win and quality start. #WeAreOK

Re: AltLB - 2025 Season

And with the close of week 17, we'll start outlining playoff scenarios. First, no one can clinch their league.

With 5 weeks remaining, the following teams have been eliminated from the playoffs:
Montreal, Memphis, Havana, Chicago, Kansas City, and Carolina.
Toronto will be eliminated with a loss OR a win by either Boston or Oakland. They will also be eliminated with a win AND a win by both Boston and Oakland.
Tampa Bay will be eliminated with a loss AND a win by either Boston or Oakland

The only team that has clinched a playoff spot is the Oklahoma City Bison.
Arizona can clinch a playoff spot with a win OR a loss by either Boston or Oakland. They can also clinch with a loss AND losses by both Boston and Oakland

Re: AltLB - 2025 Season

After a much-anticipated matchup with the Masons, Las Vegas can sleep soundly, as the Atoms won decisively to stretch our lead in the NL race to three games. We'll see them again in a week, but first, we have a date with the New York Blackbirds, who, like Boston, are battling for one of the final wildcard spots. They'll be a hungry team, so we'll need to come out hungrier. We're out of outfielders to feature, so this week, we're giving the mic to a reliever for just the second time this year. RP Brad Keller shut down the Mason offense over 04 scoreless innings, striking out 05 and earning a couple holds. #GoldBars

Re: AltLB - 2025 Season

The Thunderbirds held strong after a late charge by the Condors, and still remain the superior bird team in the CL with a season sweep over our top rival. We return home to finally play the San Diego Pandas, who we were fighting for the top in the CL for some time before they cooled off a bit. They're still 3 games back on us, but they could swing momentum in their favor with a win over us this week. Featured for us this week is OF Michael Harris II, who is starting to hit more consistently after an ice cold start to the year, hitting 10/26 for a double, triple, and RBI against Los Angeles. #Thunderstruck
