LOUIS TROPHY WINNERS! LET'S GOOOO!!!! Now, let's just hope we don't screw things up in the playoffs...
Also, Steelman, while updating the wiki, I noticed you made a mistake with regards to the standings page - Abrieden finished with 111 points, placing them in fourth in the Rankin and Kavalos in fifth.

I meant to say error. In my defense, I woke up way too early this morning and I kinda got the joke. Besides, we all make mistakes!

After looking at the Google sheet, it appears the points were correct with 94, it was the rest of their standing that was wrongly inputted. Thanks for the heads up!

No worries! The relevant corrections have now been made to the wiki.

I think this may be the second or third time I have posted on someone else’s story line. But I do so enjoy logos, uniforms, colors, nicknames, maps and stories.
I was only a casual observer for the first little while after discovering this forum, and really didn’t follow many of the story lines until I checked out the Minnesota Amateur Hockey League and the Eastern Canada Hockey Organization during some downtime last year in the late-fall, early-winter. And now, fast forward to a year later and I’ve had time to dive into the Torland Hockey League. Wonderful stuff from all of you.
My thing is more baseball and women’s sports (I coached my daughter and developed a great respect for the female athlete) – I run my own simulation leagues in women’s softball, soccer and hockey, but being Canadian, hockey entered my consciousness at a very young age – I saw (on television) the Toronto Maple Leafs last Stanley Cup win in 1967. That will give you an idea of my age. There was a time when I said, “I’m not so much a hockey fan as I am a Vancouver Canucks fan.” Once the Canucks are done, so is the hockey season for me, unless a Canadian team is still alive in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
But last year hockey climbed back into my consciousness once again. I was offered a part time job as a sometime play-by-play announcer, sometime color analyst for a local junior hockey team. Something I’ve never done, but always wondered if I could, and I’m still enjoying it immensely. That has me interested in hockey again, and I’m glad that renewed interest has led me to the Torland Hockey League.
Steelman – thank you for doing this. I can’t imagine the time, effort and the hours spent having this work near the forefront of your everyday life. I salute you.
Â
Favorite Current Logos – Vensessor Swans, Alko Barbarians, Alko Wizards, Waterdee Dragons.
Â
Favorite Defunct Logos – Alko Barbarians (1988), Port Alrene Anchors (1960).
Â
Favorite Current Uniforms – Chasonne Heralds and Vensessor Swans.
I consider colors, logo and uniform style. I’m very particular about what I like in a uniform, Chasonne and Vensessor tick most of the boxes for me.
Â
Favorite Current Team Colors – Kavalos Electrics.
During the early years of the Torland Hockey League, I really didn’t have a favorite team, but when Kavalos came on board, I jumped on their bandwagon. I liked the name of the city, the team’s nickname and especially their colors. At one time my favorite real-life teams were Seattle Super Sonics, Oakland Athletics and Green Bay Packers, so that will tell you something about why I chose Kavalos. I’m not a fan of the Electrics’ logo, but as I said, I’m a Vancouver Canucks fan in real life and I have never liked any of their logos.
Â
Favorite Current Team – Waterdee Dragons.
Well, maybe they are. They became my favorites without playing a game. Time will tell. But, like Kavalos Electrics before them, I love the name of the city, the team’s nickname and their colors. Who knows, my allegiance may return to Kavalos at some point.

I love hearing from people who have recently discovered the series! Welcome to the boards and welcome to Torland! I really appreciate your thoughts on your favorite logos and even why you root for certain teams even if they're not your favorite identities. (I myself am an Oklahoma City Thunder fan, but hate their logo) I'm jealous that you've had the opportunity to be a play by play announcer, I've always wanted to do that! Glad to have you aboard.

1992 Playoffs
Wildcard Round
7 Yubay Glaciers vs 10 Vensessor Swans
The Glaciers came in with plenty of hype in the form of rising star Raleigh Talbot but it was the veteran defenseman Foster Sherwood who smothered him and the Niko Side as Swans goalie Andre Kabbani was stout in the net and Vensessor won a pair of close overtime games to prevail. [VEN wins 3-0]
8 Narva Neptunes vs 9 Quebel Crusaders
The surging Neptunes ran into a brick wall against the experienced Crusaders as top draft pick Kevin Kozlosky finally showed his youth while Joel Eklund and company didn't allow an 8-goal outburst from Narva to deter them from winning the next two in overtime. [QUE wins 3-1]
Quarterfinals
1 Kirkenport Captains vs 10 Vensessor Swans
It wasn't the fact that the Swans beat one of the best regular season teams of all time, it was how they dismantled the Captains from top to bottom in convincing fashion. Former MVP John Roszak didn't look like himself but the Swans' swarming defense also was too much for the Kirk Boys as new addition Eric Caparros made his mark. [VEN wins 4-1]
2 Bancana Kings vs 9 Quebel Crusaders
The Kings proved they still have a great team around Pete Lentini and won a pair of wild overtime games in Games 2 and 3 to push the capable Crusaders to the limit as Quebel was unable to capitalize on their return to the playoffs. [BAN wins 4-1]
3 Sina Serpents vs 6 Portarra Whales
This matchup figured to be exciting and when it started off with a double-overtime bank shot from Patrick Quinn, the hype was palpable and didn't disappoint as these two division rivals went toe-to-toe for seven games. The Serpents were a capable foe but the winning pedigree in Portarra rose to the top as Bill Bronkowski again showed why he is one of the best players of all time as the Whales dominated Game 7 to decide the series. [POR wins 4-3]
4 Alko Barbarians vs 5 Dosa City Snappers
The Barbarians started out strong in a 5-1 thumping in Game 1 as reigning MVP Frankie Albertelli looked incredible but a hamstring injury in Game 4 changed the tide as the Snappers found their mojo behind team captain David Tennfjord and roared back to take the series in thunderous fashion as the Snappers looked like a bonafide championship contender. [DC wins 4-2]
Semi-Finals
2 Bancana Kings vs 10 Vensessor Swans
The Kings and Swans, both former members and champions of the United Hockey Alliance, locked in for a fierce semi-finals matchup. Pete Lentini was up to his usual wizardry with a scintillating goal to win Game 3 in overtime for Bancana however the Swans took the next two games behind great depth scoring and timely defense from Foster Sherwood. It was a tense Game 6 that went into double overtime before Eric Caparros found a home for a greasy goal near the crease that Manu Harmaajarvi was adament shouldn't have counted. It didn't matter though as the review held up and the Swans clinched the series. [VEN wins 4-2]
5 Dosa City Snappers vs 6 Portarra Whales
The surging Snappers hosted the battle-hardy Whales and cruised to two wins at home as Tennfjord and company looked unstoppable. Back in Portarra, however, the Whales clawed back with a pair of overtime wins to even the series and take the momentum as Bill Bronkowski rose to a new level. The Snappers rallied to pitch a shutout in Games 6 and 7 on the back of Jonah Urban as John Mark Penny won it in overtime to send Dosa City to the Cup for the first time. [DC wins 4-3]
