Re: The AltHL Season 2022

That loss to the Owls last week doesn't do us any favors, as now we're one game back on the red hot Arrows. We head out on the road again this week as we are set to take on the Kingfishers in the battle of teams that don't wear white. We're on the road, so we've got the Ivory jerseys out, and we're letting newcomer Rafael Harvey-Pinard show off the set.

Re: The AltHL Season 2022

The Wildcats had an easier time against the East-leading Chevs than expected, and with a little bit of help, are now just one spot out of the playoffs. We'll look to keep up the high scoring against the team we leapfrogged last week, as we drop our anchors in Anchorage to face off against the division rival Auroras. Perhaps appropriately, this week's feature goes to Mr. Red Lettuce himself, W Owen Tippett. #WhatTeam #EDMvsALA

Re: The AltHL Season 2022

We had a rough start, but we came back and took a late lead against Alaska, but at the end of the day, we couldn't hold on for the win. The road only gets tougher from here, as we travel across four time zones to visit the red-hot Québec Owls. With the playoffs still out of reach, though, we can't really afford to lose many more games. On the bright side, new addition D Connor Murphy was second on the team in scoring this week, so hopefully things will be looking up. #WhatTeam #EDMvsQUE

Re: The AltHL Season 2022

The 48ers get a win to keep pace with the Arrows in the Central. We still have a game against them, so we win out, we win the division. But that's a pretty tall order with the rival Ghosts coming to Milwaukee this week. We're hoping that Manpower Arena will be loud and throw them off their game. We're going to be in the brown set this week, and we're featuring my wife's favorite hockey player, Nick Schmaltz!

Re: The AltHL Season 2022

Third highest scoring team on the week? Check. Taking a loss last week? Unfortunately, check. Let's look toward closing this season out. We need a little help to catch the Arrows now, so we're going to focus on what we can, and take care of our own business. That starts this week with our last home game of the season, as we host the Calgary Wranglers. We'll be wearing the standard home browns this week, as shown by defenseman Mattias Samuelsson!

Re: The AltHL Season 2022

The Wildcats rebounded to get back in the win column with a strong performance against Les Hiboux, but still find ourselves just outside of the playoff picture. Fortunately, this week comes with a bit of an easier task as we play the long-eliminated Saskatoon Shockers in our final road game of the season. From there, though, the schedule only gets tougher, so we'll need to make sure to get the wins where we can. Somehow, we haven't featured C Nick Suzuki yet, but when Nick Suzuki is your third-best center, that's a pretty good problem to have. #WhatTeam #EDMvsSSK

The Halifax Kingfishers are happy to announce they have been eliminated.

Re: The AltHL Season 2022

And Brandon Tanev comes up clutch with a late goal to not only tack on some needed points for the 48ers, but also cost the Wranglers a goalie win to secure a big win for the 48ers. With a 2 game lead on the 8th place team with 2 to play, the 48ers chances to make the playoffs are really good. We can lock up a playoff spot with a win this week, and also make it much harder for my opponents to make it in to the playoffs as well, as we head west to take on the Minnesota Loons. We're highlighting new defenseman Dmitry Orlov, who since his acquisition, has done nothing but score points for us.

Re: The AltHL Season 2022

As expected, the Edmonton Wildcats ran the Shockers out of their building last week, and now we return to Edmonton to finish out the season under our own hard-hat-shaped roof. With the team still just one game out of the postseason picture, we'll probably need to win these last two games in order to extend our season. We'll be playing the rival Wranglers for the first time in 20 weeks, and while we beat them to open up the season, both teams look very different now than they did then. Calgary is a very hot team on offense, while our blue line looks more like the black and blue line right now. Hopefully, our healthy defensemen, like Braden Schneider, can carry the load and lead us to a crucial victory. #WhatTeam #CGYvsEDM

Re: The AltHL Season 2022

Well, we got the help we needed last week, but it didn't do us much good because we didn't help ourselves. Calgary had a great week, Edmonton had a bad one, and while the Wildcats aren't mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, we'll need at least one miracle to happen in order to crash the dance. That said, we'll be looking to finish the season strong against Portland. Of course, the Sawblades are a very good team, so it probably won't happen. Oh well. Maybe G Stuart Skinner and his fabulous moustache can pull a rabbit out of the hard hat. #WhatTeam #PORvsEDM
