Re: Solar League Baseball: A Future History

2586 Season Recap

This was a fun postseason. The Galactic Series was a rematch of '85, with the Ganymede Giants facing against the Harmony 1's. It was the Giants' 4th straight appearance in the GS, while the 1's pulled off 4 straight upsets as the no. 6 seed to win their second GS title in as many years. All 4 of their series-clinching wins were on the road (or offworld?).

Re: Solar League Baseball: A Future History

Congrats to Harmony! Ganymede's third straight Series appearance is impressive, but dominance for too long is kinda boring. I'll bet it was a good-looking Series as well.

2587 Season Recap

Finally! Something new unlike the past couple years where it was all Ganymede or Harmony. Ganymede made the postseason again as the no. 1 seed team, but got upset by the PUA Emperors in the Divisional Series. Harmony gave it another good run but Mars held them off in the ALCS. However, it was the Atlantis Atlanteans who won it all for their first ever Galactic Series title in their franchise history.

Yup! Them being in the Galactic Series 4 straight years is quite impressive! I'll have to look and see what's the record for most consecutive GS appearances.

But at the same time I'm glad to see someone else than these two make the GS because I like parity haha.

The Giants definitely will take home the "Team of the 80's" title for sure haha.

I know I just posted 3 straight seasons in a rapid succession but that's because I want to get it going again and get a bit more deeper into the years and closer to 2600, where I... *ahem* have some plans.

Re: Solar League Baseball: A Future History

Ah, PUA so close to making it. A nice deep run, hopefully they can put it all together soon.

Re: Solar League Baseball: A Future History

RR9's Meta Note -

Hello there!

Hope all is well with everybody. Sorry for the long absence. It has been quite busy lately! Marriage, new house, new baby, all that stuff! With my life starting to settle down a little bit, I’ve got the itch to fire up this Solar League again and pick up where I left off! Well, maybe a couple (or hundreds?) years in the future. I’m doing a little time skip to around 2600, where it would basically be the league’s 100th season.

And of course, to celebrate it, I’m expanding the league! BECAUSE WHY NOT. I just enjoy designing logos and putting everything together.

There’ll be 4 new teams! It’ll make the league alignment 6 divisions of 6 teams each, across two leagues. I’ve decided on where the 4 new teams will be located. 2 of them will be on the most populated celestial body of the solar system – The Moon. I already have the names and logos all set up for them.

The other two will be going INTERSTELLAR! That’s right! For the first time ever, the Solar League is going international! Erm… intergalactic!

One of the teams will be based by Proxima Centuari, the nearest star to the solar system. I already have a name and logos all set up for the Proxima team here.

Now, this is where you, my fellow solar citizens, come in! The Proxima team needs a buddy (or rival) team so they wouldn’t be alone all the way out there. And of course, to save on travel times.

I have a few ideas here and there, but I would LOVE to get some ideas on what the second intergalactic team could be. It could be in the Alpha Centuari system? (I’d really like to avoid Centuars because that’s too obvious). It could be other nearby stars, nearby star, like Bernard’s Star, Wolf 359, Sirius, etc. Or it could be on a random dwarf planet beyond Pluto. I’d even entertain a Deep Space station as well.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

The results for the time skip should be coming here in a couple of days, then I’ll start posting the expansion teams, and then the 4th team will be posted after I gather some ideas and put together a set.

Thanks everybody! Nice to be back!

Put it by Sirius just for the sake of a dog-related team name
