Re: Welcome to PUCH

Gotta say I'm liking this series so far! I think I'm going to wait for the entire league to be unveiled before I pick the one I support.

Definitely a unique name for Chicago, but they look really sharp

Re: Welcome to PUCH

Eight is Great. Super Great! Super-duper Great!

Mr. Edward Earl Emerson disappeared behind the curtain and quickly returned with a tall dark-skinned man in a silky charcoal suit and bright blue tie. He had ignored Osborne on the way in and there appeared to already be bad blood between the two.

Motown Chrome will be located in Detroit, Michigan and play their home games at the Henry Ford Center which seats 6,500. The club will be sponsored by Ford Motor Company and Motown Records. The club will be primarily owned and managed by Quincy Quarles, a Detroit-area businessman who is part-owner of Motown Records and is the only non-white owner in the new league. Quarles is African-American and grew up in a poverty-stricken Detroit neighborhood before working his way through college and becoming a successful entrepreneur in the music industry. Quarles has a stellar if chaotic reputation. His college friends talked him into trying hockey and he learned fast and made the team despite little experience. His hockey career ended there but it left him with a love for the sport. Quarles is compassionate but he also is prone to stirring the pot and riling people up when he feels like it, just to see some chaos brew.

Behind the bench for Motown will be Craig Carlsson, 47, a smooth-talking Swede who typically spends more time covering his backside than actually coaching. When he actually does coach, however, he's among the best in the league. He's assisted by Pete Peterson, 35, who still lives in his mom's basement and hasn't figured out how to take responsibility for anything. And Walt Wideman, who is aptly named both in stature and ability to spin anything into some kind of petty grudge.

Motown will sport blue and silver in an ode to their name, which ties together the music business with the car business. The uniforms will be the first in the league to feature their sponsorship logo, where the Ford logo will be positioned prominently on both shoulders. Even the primary logo will mimic Ford's logo. The uniforms themselves feature simple yokes, angled triple striping on the sleeves, bold numbers, and unique script captain patches. Both sets will be paired with blue pants.

Before Quarles could get into a row with some unwitting reporter about the icy pass-by of Osborne, Emerson escorted him back to the green room and prepared the next owner for introduction.

C&C appreciated! We're almost to all ten initial identities and then we all get to choose our clubs.

Thanks! and I absolutely expect everyone to do the same. There will be a more official club-choosing ceremony once the teams are revealed.

Re: Welcome to PUCH

Motown is solid, not really for me but I like the set. I do really like the diagonal striping on the sleeves, that's a nice unique touch.

Re: Welcome to PUCH

I think the uniforms and everything have been stellar, but more than anything my favorite parts have been the absolute cast of characters that the League seems to have at the helm.

Re: Welcome to PUCH

I am really digging the striping on Motown. They're definitely one of those teams that will always look good.

Thanks! I'm also enjoying really finding different ways to make them all unique and fun.

Glad you're digging them. I definitely needed a more classically oriented team.

Re: Welcome to PUCH

Nine is Super Fine. Super-duper Fine. Did We Say That Already? Oops.

Mr. Edward Earl Emerson had to pull the curtain back extra far as a short balding man in wireframe glasses was accompanied by a huge muscular bodyguard with the classic bald head and ridiculously tight black shirt. Muscles basically picked up Baldy with one arm and hoisted him up to the podium.

Ohio Republic will be located in two cities. Their primary home will be in Columbus, Ohio and play their games at Wendy's Arena, which seats 4,000. Their secondary home will be in Cleveland, Ohio where they will play games at the Sherwin-Williams Center which seats 4,500. The club will be sponsored by both companies in a curious arrangement between the two cities. Owner Zane Zimmerman was unable to secure financing for a new club and a new arena so he had to get creative brought in the Cleveland venue to help offset costs. Emerson was furious but since the club had already been sold to Zimmerman, he had to honor the deal. Zimmerman is an odd duck. Despite being one of the richest men in Ohio, he still clips coupons and tries to barter in retail stores. He's very secretive with his money and rarely spends it on anything. He's often paranoid that people are stealing from him and refuses to go out in public without an armed bodyguard.

Ohio Republic will be coached by Lane Laremy, 50, who is a fine coach during games but has zero ability to teach players anything. He'll be assisted by a pair of loudmouths in Will Waggenheim, 41, and Franklin Ferguson, 46, who both seem to have a problem with too much shouting, screaming, or being capable of speaking like normal people. They often are shouting at each other while the players just stand there and wait for them to calm down.

The identity for Ohio Republic will feature a dark navy, blue, red, and white scheme. The logo features the state outline overtop a triangle shape to represent the tri-state area of Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, and a scripted Ohio. The uniforms feature yokes and angled striping with asymmetrical accents and numbers with drop shadows. Zimmerman couldn't decide on a primary color or even a standard design and Emerson finally gave up and included most of it in the same set.

With Emerson shooting furious eyes at an oblivious Zimmerman, there was a long awkward pause as nobody moved or said anything. Finally it was Muscles who decided to end the stalemate and swooped Zimmerman down from the stage and marched him back to the green room, much to the relief of Emerson. The new commish took a moment to regulate his blood pressure and then announced they'd come to the final team identity.

C&C appreciated!

Re: Welcome to PUCH

I'm actually really digging Ohio Republic! I thought that white was cream at first and honestly I think it could use it at some point. Looking forward to the last team!
