After dancing to the Elvis Disco classic, Sevs calms down and makes yet another announcement.

For the Triple A franchise, the Nashville Smashers will be in session! Double A is in Indianapolis, the King Birds, and The Shreveport Bulldogs are the single A affiliate.

You know that the home of this team has always been AutoZone Park, but I’m not changing the location, INSTEAD I will expand the park to 45,000 people.

The Manager of the team will be St. Louis Cardinals legend Yadier Molina. You’re asking who are these cardinals? That’s an interview for another time…

Re: AltLB Design Thread

The Oklahoma City Bison are prepared to announce our coaching staff, stadium and minor league teams.

We will be leaving our legendary Bricktown Stadium to move into our brand new stadium on the same site. Thanks to the stadium rights deal, we will be moving into Cox Ballpark, sponsored by Cox Enterprises.

We quickly moved to secure Tulsa for our AAA level team. Our AA team will be in the growing biotech research city of Huntsville, Alabama. And our A level team will be in Little Rock, Arkansas. I will be turning branding and design of the Little Rock team over to my 8-year old son.

Finally, our coaching staff. It was a no brainer to hire our manager. He's won at every level he's coached at, and he's my favorite player of all time, Ryne Sandberg. Our Hitting Coach is Oklahoma State University legend Robin Ventura. And our pitching coach is the one and only Greg Maddux.

Re: AltLB Design Thread

The Talons have announced their minor league affiliates will be located in the following cities
*Ottawa, ON (AAA)
*Syracuse, NY (AA)
*Scranton, PA (A)
No word yet on team names.

AND NOW, FOR STADIUMS

The Canadome has been a Torontonian landmark for decades. Built in the late 70s to lure a baseball team in, and named specifically to give the finger to the Montreal Saints, it is located immediately outside of the city in Pickering. It has all the normal things from a domed stadium: good seats, protection from bad weather, and lots of really good stadium food. However, it’s becoming an inconvenience for management not having their stadium close to the city. So, starting in 2022, the Talons will be moving to a brand new stadium right by the CN Tower and the Wellfields Centre. The Canadome, however, will remain in use for events such as the annual junior hockey championship and some concerts.

The new stadium will be equipped with a retractable roof to let sun in on warm days and some really cool leds. It will be sponsored by Hartman Health, a not-for-profit operator of several hospitals and health centers in the Greater Toronto area. Game day food is enviable across the world, with chains such as Tim Horton’s, Pizza Pizza, Taco Bell, A&W and BeaverTails, as well as a massive Irish pub fitted with fullscreen tvs and a clear view of the field.

The Kings have officially announced if Yadier plays next season, manager will be filled by Redbirds Legend Stubby Clapp.

Re: AltLB Design Thread

The Arizona Thunderbirds would like to make a brief announcement about our minor league affiliates for the future of the franchise: Denver, Tucson, and Flagstaff.

Our AAA team will be the Denver Dynamos, named after the energy boom in the city during the 70's and 80's.
Our AA team will be the Tucson Blaze, named after the blazing hot heats of Arizona summers.
Finally, our A team will be the Flagstaff Comets, named after the discoveries made at Lowell Observatory.

Future branding for our minor league teams, as well as ballpark and manager information, will be announced at a later time.

Re: AltLB Design Thread

The Dallas Sidewinders have announced that Texas legend Nolan Ryan will manage the team and front office as the Sidewinders move into their new covered ballpark, ExxonMobile Field. Their nearby legacy stadium at the infamous Deadgrass Field will undergo renovations and be renamed Trinity Field and host live events as the team says goodbye to their beloved original ballpark they called home since 1980.

Deadgrass Field was a terrible place to play baseball with its oversized field, cramped seating, very little overhang on the clubhouse roof for shade during hot Texas summers, and perhaps almost iconically, the brown grass. The groundskeeping crew had trouble keeping the grass green in the early 80's, often going brown as early as June. "Dad says we're in the playoff hunt until the grass dies" could be heard by cynical fans, a reference to the team being out of contention by Father's Day. Another local saying was "Dead grass means we're last!" After that, the crew never tried to make it green and only focus on keeping the grass from turning into pure dirt throughout the season, often unsuccessfully, leading to the team being nicknamed the "Dirt Gliders" in the early 90's.

Originally founded in 1974 as the Pittsburgh Pythons, the team struggled financially and had little fan support in a rough six seasons before being sold and moved to Dallas to become the Sidewinders in 1980. The Sidewinders haven't been the most successful team, but their fan base remains strong and ardent with a reputation of toughness and brash swagger both on and off the field. Often that swagger has gotten many players and fans into altercations and fights that has only added to the mystique. The iconic "Leeeeeeeeettttttttt's RATTLE!" chant while fans stomp their feet and shake small plastic cylinders filled with beads is a Dallas institution and can get very loud, much to the dismay of opposing teams.

Dallas is also announcing deals with several minor league affiliate cities, with identities to be revealed at a later date:

Triple-A: Regios de Monterrey (Monterrey Regals in English) will play at Magnifico Field in Monterrey, Mexico.
Double-A: Austin City Sox will play at Lady Bird Ballpark in Austin, Texas.
Single-A: Bomb City Ranchers will play at Cadillac Park in Amarillo, Texas.

Re: AltLB Design Thread

This morning the AltLB held the official league dispersion draft. Teams were randomly sorted into two leagues. As we said a few days ago...all 24 teams will be in one Fantrax league. The league will be divided like old school baseball...two leagues.
