Re: The National Pasttime Breaks Up

What Are we going to Simulate for Baseball in this thread?
Answer: We are going to use Out of the Park Baseball 20, However we will have a mix of Real and Fictional Players since 1911 and we will import actual Baseball Players as the years will progress.

Coming Up Next, The First Baseball Leagues of a Divided America

Re: The National Pasttime Breaks Up

Im not sure how I feel about the names of the countries, sound more like sports leagues than countries. But seems like an interesting idea

Re: The National Pasttime Breaks Up

Very interesting premise. Does each region/new country have its own government/political style now?

Re: The National Pasttime Breaks Up

Okay, But we will let anyone to get what we will see about the Eight Countries, But In the Meantime the Northern States of America started to Bring Baseball with a League called the Northeast Baseball League consisting of 10 Teams)

The Teams: Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Washington Senators, Baltimore Orioles, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Phillies, Brooklyn Dodgers, Boston Braves

Meanwhile the New CSA or the Central States of America joined forces with the Mid-American Republic created the Central Baseball League

Teams: Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox, St. Louis Browns, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, Indianapolis Hoosiers, Minneapolis Millers, Milwaukee Brewers

Both Leagues will play a season of 162 Games, The Top 2 Teams in each league will qualify for a League Championship with the League Championships face off in the World Series.

Re: The National Pasttime Breaks Up

Suggestion on Regions:

  • Louisiana (Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, West Tennessee, West Kentucky, Southern Illinois, and St Louis)
  • Republic of Texas (Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, & Southern New Mexico)
  • Confederate State of America (Alabama, Georgia, East Tennessee, East Kentucky, Maryland, Delaware, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, & Florida)
  • New England (Eastern Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, & Maine)
  • Wabash Republic (Western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Northern Illinois, & West Virginia)
  • Daneland (Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, & the Dakotas)
  • Cascadia (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, & Wyoming)
  • California (California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, & Northern New Mexico)
  • Alaska joins the Dominion of Canada
  • Hawaii would never join the USA

Baseball would never leave the Northeastern and Mid-West if the nation was divided. You'd likely see soccer take hold in the Confederacy with British influence. Football would also likely develop in Mid-West still. Hockey would spill into the north still.

Just all suggestions, but I'd love to help write an alternate NFL (or multiple leagues) and maybe an alternate college landscape.

Re: The National Pasttime Breaks Up

Nice Suggestion @HooiserAltHistorian but you can do that in your own AU Sports Thread on a Divided North America, But Nonetheless you can still make up Suggestions for My Divided Baseball League (as well as Football, Hockey and maybe Basketball in the Near Future), so thank you.
