Put the Railers up against the Voyageurs... my guess is the blue will trip on the blue line and hand it over right to Thief River.

Gotta keep with Thief River Falls, so I'll take them over Hibbing.
Duluth is going to find a way past Cloquet.

1960 Kellogg Cup Playoffs, Semi Finals
Hibbing Greyhounds vs Thief River Falls Railers
The top ranked Hibbing Greyhounds showed the packed crowd at the Hibbing Memorial Building, and the Railers, how they earned that top ranking. The Hounds seemed to have solved the game play of Thief River, as the Railers were unable to get any real momentum going on the attack. Hibbing on the other hand was having their way on the ice, everything just seemed to click. Passes were hard and to the tape, and their defenders shut down the Railers when they were needed. Polich was again the ring leader for his Hounds, notching a goal and an assist in the 3-1 victory to advance to their 4th finals appearance in the last 8 years.
Cloquet Broncos vs Duluth Voyageurs
A long lost rivalry from the 20's was given new life as Millen and the Broncos did battle with the Voyageurs from a town over. Both teams came out hard, each scoring twice in the opening period. The second period went in favor of Le Bleus who controlled the flow of play and netted two more. The Broncos were down but not out, and they came out for the third looking much more determined than the previous period. Cloquet scored 5 minutes in to the third, sparking the hometown crowd back into the game. Then things became chippy. After a big open ice hit on Millen, a scrum broke out between the teams, the benches cleared and fists were flying. It took nearly 15 minutes for the referees and authorities to get things back under control. In the end there were 11 players ejected and the Broncos wound up with a powerplay due to the Voyageurs being the first team to clear the bench. Millen was put out for the powerplay and capitalized, tying the game at 4 apiece midway through the third, the score would stay the same until the final horn signalling overtime. Overtime was a bit slower than the regulation periods due to losing so much depth from the brawl. The Voyageurs were in the Cloquet zone, cycling the puck behind the net. Heaslip left the puck for his center and broke off to the front of the net. His teammate sauced a pass over the defenders stick, right to Heaslip's blade. He promptly slapped it on net and it was saved, but the rebound went right back out front where he slapped it again and again until it finally found a hole and went into the back of the net to give his team the win. This will be Le Bleus 8th finals appearance, tying the Eveleth Redbirds for the most all time.
Let me know what you think, comments are appreciated!

The color blue in this league needs a massive nerf

It's not even that I'm a Le Bleus fan, it's that I loathe Hibbing. I hope we stomp those Hounds into the dirt. (or ice, as it were)

It's a product of the times. The original teams, much like in real life, wore a lot of reds and blues.

1960 Kellogg Cup Final
The Hibbing Memorial Building was packed to the brim with over 8,500 in attendance, passing the Trappers record set in 1954 for the largest crowd at a MAHL game.
1st Period
HIB - 0
DUL - 0
The first period was a deadlock with neither team taking any risks. The shots were kept to a minimum and there was no real flow to the game.
2nd Period
HIB - 1
DUL - 1
Things picked up a bit in the second, the Voyageurs came out fast and struck first on a quick shot just under the goalies glove. Polich would get that back just 3:22 later to tie things back up at one apiece. Hibbing had a number of offensive chances for the remainder of the second, but the Duluth defense stood strong to keep it a tie game heading into the third.
3rd Period
HIB - 1
DUL - 2
The third period was high paced, back and forth hockey. Both teams were firing on all cylinders, but the goalies were up to the challenge. The Voyageurs finally broke through thanks to a rocket of a one timer from Heaslip that beat the Greyhound goalie. Hibbing would give it their all for the remainder of the game, but would be unable to get past the Duluth goalkeeper. The final horn sounded and Le Bleus hopped the boards and threw their gloves and sticks in the air on their way to celebrate with their goalie who stole the show. The 30 year drought is over, the Duluth Voyageurs are your 1960 Kellogg Cup Champions!
Brady Millen took home the Tschida Trophy to no ones surprise. Millen almost single handedly brought his Broncos back to the playoffs for the first time since 1932, and he brought them all the way to the semi finals. All this in his first season in the league.

Nothing? Ok, well the 1960-61 offseason was a busy one, particularly in the Valley Hockey League. Let's start out with our first change of the season, the Austin Mavericks.
The Mavericks introduced a new logo for the upcoming season. A Maverick Bull with steam shooting out of his nose will be the teams new logo, replacing the "Flying A" that the team has used since its inception.
The new logo is featured on the front of their jerseys. The home jersey remains otherwise the same, but the away now has blue shoulders and a yellow collar.

Staying in the Valley, we have the Rochester Robins who are just tweaking their logo. The black outline of the R is now thicker and the white stroke is removed, but stays on the Robin.
The Robins completely redesigned their uniforms. The home uniform is now orange with black and white stripes, the mismatched stripes have been replaced with consistent striping throughout. The breezers have also been changed to black.

We now head north to Two Harbors of the Lake Superior League. Two Harbors went through a complete rebrand this offseason, changing their name from the Timberwolves to the Wolfpack. The team decided to change their nickname to the Wolfpack in an attempt to change the direction the team has been going the last couple decades. Two Harbors coach commented on the name change saying "The new name is meant to bring us together, we know we aren't as big or strong as teams from these bigger cities, but we are a team, we are a pack of hungry wolves." The change brought in the first drastic change to their logo in the teams 34 year history. The new logo is very geometric in shape, is howling and is much more simplified than the previous logo.
The Wolfpack made slight tweaks to their old uniforms. The new logo is placed on the chest of the jersey, and the shoulders are now red on the home and black on the road.
