Re: All-American Association Football League

The two clubs that were promoted to the Mid-American Regional Division, Racine Danskere and Sioux City Stalkers.  The sizeable Danish population in Racine is the basis for the Danskere names, which is Danish for Danes.  The club is owned by the local malted milk company, Horlick's.

Re: All-American Association Football League

The two new club in the Eastern Regional Division are Norfolk Ironclads and United Mancunians.  The latter club hails from Manchester, NH.  The locals could not decide whether to base themselves off of Manchester United or Manchester City of the English First Division, so they settled on incorporating the colors of both clubs.

Re: All-American Association Football League

The San Francisco club owned by Bethlehem Steel Shipbuilding Company, was supposed to have begun playing last season as the Point Hunters, after the Hunters Point locale.  However, there were design flaw in the newly-constructed Hunters Point Shipyard field, which prevented them from playing.  In the intervening months, the club decided to utilize a new name – San Francisco Seahunters.

Re: All-American Association Football League

For the third time, the Milwaukee Brewmasters captured the title of the Ultimate Division.  Under the guidance of Manager of Year Pat O’Dea, the Brewmasters were a squad of roleplayers.  They didn’t place a single player on the Gold Star team (although they did have 3 on the Silver Star and 2 on the Bronze Star squads).  It was very tight season, with the preaseason favorite Philadelphia Libbies nipping at the Brewmasters’ heels for most of the campaign.  Defending champion New York Formorians were in the hunt for most of the year, but they finished three points behind in third.

Inaugural member Baltimore Chimney Swifts had a bittersweet return to the top flight.  They finished five points from safety and will join in the Minneapolis Millstones in the Penultimate Division next season.

The Fomorians swept the major awards.  Micah McPherson led the league in scoring and points, and this led to a runaway election for the Golden Ball as Player of the Year.

Re: All-American Association Football League

Penultimate Division 1913-1914In the last season of four promotions from the Penultimate Division, two inaugural teams – Brooklyn Bridegrooms and Boston Shipwrights – along with the Richmond Railers and the ever-improving Indianapolis Speedsters earned promotion to the top level.  The Shipwrights spent only a single campaign in the second division and finished 3 points behind Brooklyn.   Akron Vulcanites missed catching the Speedsters by a single point.

At the other end of the table, United Kansas Cities and New York Chieftains suffered relegation – UKC losing out to newly promoted St. Louis All-Saints on goal difference.  Both clubs have too much quality to languish at the regional level for long.

Eastern Regional Division 1913-1914
Two clubs from Pennsylvania finished atop the division and tied on points.  Lokomotiv Reading claimed the top spot on goal difference over Bethlehem Steelworkers.  The newly promoted United Mancunians finished a respectable 11th place in the table.  Their fellow promotee Norfolk Ironclad finished in safety by only a single point.  Hartford Scions and Queens Gambits will have to return to their respective Sectional Divisions.

Mid-American Division 1913-1914
After five years in the Mid-American, the Louisville Racehorses will finally return to the Penultimate after easily capturing the Regional title.  The venerable Chicago Southsiders will also climb to the Penultimate, with hopes to soon add to their 1906 season in the Ultimate Division.  The newly promoted Sioux City Stalkers will get another season at the Regional level, while their fellow promotee Racine Danskere will return to the Sectional, along with the Saginaw Cogs.  On the other side Louisville, shakeups are underway in the Lieutenant Colonels compound.  A disappointing eight place finish after being relegated last year and the sight of their crosstown rivals ascending to the Penultimate meant an end to the managerial tenure of Aaron Herring.  There is even talk of rebranding the club.
