Believe it or not we are in the seventh season of the pre-AltHL history.
In an attempt to solve their playoff woes the Chevaliers trade for Patrick Roy. One night, during the 2005 season, the Dragons were on the wrong side of a 9-1 loss. The Dragons coach regrettably did not take Roy out until the ninth goal. Roy feeling like he was left out to dry stormed off of the ice, filled with frustration and anger. He slammed his goalie mask down and paced on the SF bench. Team owner, Burmy sat behind the team bench. There was no glass between him and Roy. Roy angrily stormed up to Burmy and told him that he just played his last game as a Dragon. 4 days later, Roy was in Montreal. The Chevs sent goaltender Jocelyn Thibault, Martin Rucinsky and Andrei Kovalenko to San Francisco in exchange for Patrick Roy and captain Mike Keane.

Honestly it was difficult switching around 'from Montreal' to 'to Montreal'

Funny how you know it's coming and it's still somehow shocking to read, y'know?

The Canadian Shield VII Playoffs:
The CHL playoffs are both rematches of last year's opening round.
#1 Toronto Terriers versus #4 Halifax Kingfishers
The Kingfishers are in the hunt for their third shield and to do so they need to take down the Terriers. The Dogs set the single season record for point in a season.
#2 Montreal Chevaliers versus #3 Vancouver Glaciers
Montreal tries to get over the hump to the finals. They have to battle the Glaciers who look to defend their title.
The 2006 Adams Cup Playoffs
#1 Charlotte Racers versus #4 New York Gargoyles
Here we go again...the Racers are back on top after winning the East Division. They look to win the finals finally. The Gargoyles have been to the playoffs 6 out of the first 7 years. They haven't won it all since 2000.
#2 San Francisco Dragons versus #3 Philadelphia Founders
The Dragons are back in the playoffs despite trading away their star goalie Patrick Roy. They won their fourth division title. The 'Yo-Yo Founders' are back in the playoffs. After winning the Cup in '02, they missed the playoffs. Then they won the East Division-made the finals, then missed the playoffs. Now they are back and going for their second Adams Cup.

Hilarious to read Roy going to Montreal.
Also, f--k ya Brian Boucher. Always had a soft spot for him growing up.
Now we patiently await John Vanbiesbrouck...

Well, another year where I promise a Dellor desk smash if the Racera get bounced first round...
