After yet another season of either not making the playoffs or losing in the first round (they're 0-8 all-time in the playoffs), the Philadelphia Americans have parted ways with longtime coach Boyd West. Taking his place will be former Boston offensive coordinator Franklin Mayes.

The Pittsburgh expansion group has announced plans to build a stadium on the banks of the Ohio River that will be ready for their first season.

There were no major trades this off season.

1963 NAFA Off Season: Part II

Two teams made changes to their identities this year:

Detroit went with a new uniform design that now uses colored sleeves. They also added a single stripe on their helmets and pants.

Indianapolis became the second club to utilize and alternate uniform. It is black and uses white numbers with an orange outline.

Re: An Alternate History of American Football: The NAFA

The Chiefs look great in black! I do like the Sparks as well but they're sorely missing gold. Hopefully it'll be back soon.

Re: An Alternate History of American Football: The NAFA

So, I only just now realized that the Chiefs are supposed to be an orange team, lmao!   Anyway, I like the home and alternate jerseys.  Not super crazy about the black home pants, but to be fair, I tend to dislike black pants in football, (most teams don't look in them in my eyes).   So yeah, overall, nice job!

I wouldn't mind seeing Detroit bring some more gold into the jersey either, although they look fine as it is.  Interesting concept for this team with the shelve colors being different from the chest portion of the jersey.

Re: An Alternate History of American Football: The NAFA

First time I have actually looked into this thread and I think its very high quality. You have done a great job of constructing identities and presentation is very clean. The favorite look has to be the black bears when it comes to logo, but much preferred the uniforms out of Ottawa before they toned it down a bit. Looking forward to expansion to the west!
