After a few years away, AltCAA Athletics is returning for the 2025-26 season! This does NOT affect the AltCAA Football that will continue with the current traditional fantasy sports experience via Fantrax. The additional three sports will be baseball, basketball, and hockey. You have your existing schools, and they can participate in as many or as few of the three sports as you'd like, with the caveat that hockey is locked to a maximum of 20 colleges.
It will work very similarly to the way that was outlined in the original thread, except I'm dropping lacrosse.
1.) The Roll Call - If you would like your school to be represented, you must EMAIL me your intentions. You do NOT need to participate in every sport. For those of you that may have moved schools, you can use a previous school to cover a sport as one of them, but you may NOT have multiple schools in a single sport (i.e. Hawaii State does not sponsor hockey because they're from Hawaii, but I can use Wisconsin State for hockey in its place)
2.) Point Allocation - You will be given 25 points for every sport your school(s) sponsor. When you submit your Roll Call submission, you would also let me know how you would allocate your points. This means if you're doing all 3 sports you can balance the points and be well-rounded, or if you'd like to be better in a specific sport, you can allocate more points to that sport and reduce the points in another sport. You must allocate at least 1 point in each sport you participate in. If you participate in 3 sports you'll get 75, 2 sports you'll get 50, and 1 sport you'll get just that 25 points. Points MUST be allocated in whole number increments.
3.) Draft Orders - The draft orders will be announced, based on points, with ties being broken via wheelofnames.com which I will do on a Discord call with at least 3 other members of the community on the call. More points, earlier pick, fewer points, lower pick. Baseball will be preliminary, as people who miss the initial deadline can still join with their 25 points up until the draft for that sport.
4.) The Drafts - there will be three drafts (one per sport) at different times throughout the year, run similar to the AltFL Rookie drafts. Each draft will be a three round draft in a fixed process and each pick is a 24 hour time limit. You'll be picking in the same draft spot in all three rounds so your points will give you the better pick in all three rounds, further helping you get better teams for your school's sports you put more points into.
5.) The Season - your selected schools via the draft will have their records compiled, and the total will be factored into everything for the postseason. So three schools go 20-10, 22-8, and 17-13, your school's record will be 59-31.
6.) The Postseason - teams will be seeded based on their performance via that and applied to the respective sport's postseason. So I will randomly select a region in the tournament for the playoffs in basketball, hockey based on the 16 teams making the tournament, and baseball based on the Super Regionals and Omaha. Teams will be seeded based on their performance in the regular season (excluding any conference tournaments).
And that's it! You draft, you watch, we see how it all plays out.
Today starts the roll call, with everything closing on Friday, October 31st at 10:00pm Central. NCAA Hockey has already started, so that draft would start on 11/3/25 and you get the advantage of knowing how those teams are currently doing before the draft! As always, my email to use is AltLB.DC@gmail.com.
Needless to say I'd keep your point values to yourself so that no one works around you in the order. This is what you need to submit:
SCHOOL + MASCOT
Basketball = ___________
Hockey = ___________
Baseball = ___________

Alright, we have 9 responses so far. I'll be finalizing the orders for hockey and basketball tonight on the Discord so I can share my screen. If anyone who hasn't responded gets something in before that, we'd love to have you.

We've exceeded the 24 hour window for Buffalo State to make their pick. Much like the NFL draft, they will be able to make the picks at any point, but we will move forward. Now on the clock, Deschutes University - Bend!
