DRIVEBALL ARRIVES IN PITTSBURGH

Clark Youngquist's bid to purchase the financially battered Rochester Millers was approved last week by the Driveball Alliance of North America's Board of Governors. Effective immediately, the team will move to Pittsburgh, where they will play their home games at either Forbes Field or Pitt Stadium. When asked about a name or uniform design, Youngquist made no other comment besides hinting at using black and gold like the Pirates and Steelers.

During the 1950-51 offseason, the Driveball Alliance of North America sought a partnership with CBS, NBC or DuMont in order to bring Driveball to television on a regular basis. Once the DANA reaches a deal with either network, the 1952 season will be the first year Driveball will be televised coast to coast.

In anticipation of Driveball's arrival in Pittsburgh, local press outlets are holding a contest to name the team.

Among the front runners:
- Knights
- Triplets
- Blacksmiths
- Rivermen
- Millers (as in Steel mills)
- Maulers
- Iron Men
- Peregrines
- Paladins
- Write ins are welcome.
