Welcome to the one stop shop for all of the non-football sports of this year's AltCAA season. This year is an experiment so bare with us as we have fun seeing the madness that this will become. Follow along below for the basic format of AltCAA Athletics.

*Note that football is a traditional fantasy sports experience that is living on Fantrax like our other sports. These additional sports will follow this new format.

*Note that the schools drafted will not be the same as the LEGACY PROJECT schools that we will eventually do

*Note that even though your school is not a FOOTBALL school you are still invited to join this experience.

This thread will serve as the thread for all non-football sports. This year we will test this system out with four sports (basketball, hockey, baseball, lacrosse).

Here is how it will work:

1.) The Roll Call - If you would like your school to be represented this year you have to EMAIL me your intentions. You do NOT need to participate in every sport. See below for further details.

2.) Draft Point System - Each school is given 100 Draft Points (avg. 25 per sport). When you submit your roll call intention to me you have to also provide the number of points you want to allocate to each sport. For example, if you want each of your sports to be weighted equally, each sport would receive 25 points. If you want to be a basketball powerhouse you could give basketball more points. If you choose to not have a specific sport at your school you will have 75 points available.

3.) Draft Orders - then based on how schools allocated their points they will be slotted into a draft order for each sport. This way you have a say in where your team drafts for each sport. In the future, the draft order will be determined by the order of finish from the previous season. The best team picks first, the worst team picks last.

4.) The Drafts - there will be four drafts (one per sport) at different times throughout the year. The drafts will run similarly to the way that we did the AltCAA Football Legacy project. There will be three rounds in each sport (24 hour limit per pick). It will be a snake. We will select college teams to be matched with. Each school will have three colleges linked to them. This ensures that a little skill is involved. ***Note that college hockey has a maximum 20 AltCAA colleges involved***

5.) The Season - athletic directors will pay attention to their linked teams IRL. Every time your linked team wins you win, every time they lose you lose. The combination of all of their records will make up your school's record.

6.) The Postseason - every sport has a different postseason format. Our teams will be seeded and then linked to the corresponding seeded team IRL. This means that the team you had in the regular season may be different than the one you have in the postseason.

That's it! Once we draft, there is nothing that we can do except watch how our teams do.

TODAY WE ARE STARTING THE ROLL CALL. I'll close the roll call on Friday 9/30. Needless to say I'd keep your point values to yourself so that no one works around you in the order. This is what you need to submit:

SCHOOL + MASCOT
Basketball = ___________
Hockey = ___________
Baseball = ___________
Lacrosse = ____________

Here is the new official AltCAA database. I'll fill out the sheet once all of the roll call is complete.

Welcome to the 2022-2023 AltCAA Hockey Season.

We have 15 schools participating this season. We have spread them out over three conferences. The ECC and the HAC remain relatively intact. Michigan Institutional will replace Wichita A&M in the HAC. The third conference however is where things get interesting...the Super West teams of Southern Colorado and Yellowstone will join Southern V teams Queen City State and Nouvelle France. Lone Star joins them. Those five teams together will be our Frankenstein conference. Those five owners can come together and name the conference.

This is how this season will work. Once we have this 'Signing Day' there is nothing else to do. There are 60 D1 college hockey teams. We will be drafting 45 of them. Three round snake draft. It will be a 'slow draft'. Each pick will have a maximum time limit of 24 hours. Ideally people should pay attention so that we can move it along. But we will not skip anyone until the 24 hour limit is up. You can pick any D1 hockey team that you wish. Once we have three teams each, their combined records will be your school's record.

At the end of the season we will see who has the best records and we will place them into a playoff bracket. The top 8 teams will make the tournament.

Remember that this is an experiment so please be patient with how this works out. Everyone in the roll call submitted their point values for each of their sports. Teams who are participating in four sports have 100 points, 3 = 75, 2=50, 1=25. So the draft order was determined by all of you. The teams at the top of this draft will be closer to the bottom of another one. That's how it evens out.

Here is the draft order:
1. Hershey
2. St. Laurent
3. St. Brendan's
4. Penn Comm
5. Yellowstone
6. Minnesota A&M
7. Riel
8. Lone Star
9. Southern Colorado
10. Wichita A&M
11. Twin Cities
12. Wisconsin State
13. Nouvelle France
14. Arizona College of Mines
15. Calvert
16. Queen City State
17. Michigan Institutional

We will be doing the basketball one in a few weeks. But for now, we are doing hockey.

Hershey is on the clock with the first selection!
