- Ottawa’s Jared Cox sets the NAFA record for receiving TDs as a tight end with 9. The previous record was just 6.

East Division Final: New York Blues 27, Philadelphia Americans 17

Philadelphia’s passing attack was limited in a great performance by New York’s secondary. Gilbert finished just 12-25 for 166 yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs. It was his only multiple INT game of the year.

Minneapolis kicker Leland Cooper sinks a 31-yard field goal as time expires, sending Minneapolis to their first Continental Bowl.

After trailing 13-3 at half, New York scores 23 unanswered on their way to their 5th Continental Bowl title. QB Alfredo Bowen has a huge 2nd half, throwing for a TD and running for 2.

Tough break for the Jacks. How does Hunter's health look for next season?

Nice run by the Black Bears, but congrats to the Blues on a great comeback win.

He should be fine for next season and Cleveland should return to the top of their division.

1959 NAFA Off Season

Four more teams added TV numbers this off season.

The Detroit Sparks and Indianapolis Chiefs made no other changes to their looks:

The Cleveland Lumberjacks replaced the block-C on their sleeves with the TV numbers and will now use their whole logo on their helmets instead of just the tree:

Finally, the Minneapolis Black Bears got rid of their half-sleeve design. They also switched their helmet logo from the block-M to the bear:

On July 3, 1959, Commissioner Tom Evans announced the NAFA would expand by two teams in the 1960-61 season.

The NAFA Expansion Council is once again open. If you would like to participate, please fill out the following information:

Name: Your character's first and last name.
Age: Your character's age.
Bio: Claim to fame, Business, Origins, etc.
Choices for the 1960-61 Expansion: Choose from two of the following six markets -

Boston, Massachusetts
Dallas, Texas
Miami, Florida
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Vancouver, British Columbia
Washington, D.C.

The council will open until Thursday, July 18 at 1:00pm EST.

I really like the new Black Bears new uni's.

It is a little hard to see the bear on the black jersey, maybe using the whole logo with the block M behind the bear could help
