Re: XFL 2020

I could see Columbus and Cleveland being in the next expansion, Especially Columbus now the MAPFRE stadium will no longer be used

MAPFRE Stadium would be a good home for the reborn Columbus Destroyers...

“Chuba Goes 1st Round”

April 25, 2022

Stamford, CT - Chuba Hubbard has done exactly what he wanted to do.  He bet on himself by sitting out this previous NFL season and playing in the XFL as a rookie.  He was selected 17th overall by the Houston Texans, the first RB off the board.

Chuba Hubbard gave the XFL plenty of positive press this weekend at the NFL Draft and he's not done with the league just yet, he said he plans on finishing out the season with the Montreal Monarchs, and believes he can bring a championship to his home country.  "We have a legitimate chance at the championship. We just have to keep our nose on the grindstone and keep working.  We're all playing together and it's a blast."

He also believes he has set an example for other players that may face similar situations in the future. "I haven't talked to any kids about doing what I've done but I would encourage others to do the same thing if they think it's right for their career. Schools and professional organizations have all the power in this game.  This is a small chance to flex some of your own muscles on your path."

“Soul Fails to Defend Philadelphia Against the Guardians”

April 26, 2022

Philadelphia, PA - Geno Smith threw for two while backup RB Andre Williams added another two scores on the ground in a dominant first half that saw the Guardians jump on top 28-13.  However, DeShone Kizer found Braxton Miller at the start of the third quarter for a 12 yard, and after adding a Cody Parkey Field Goal, the Soul closed the third quarter with only a 28-23 deficit.  Following a Cairo Santos Field Goal, the Soul added another Parkey one of their own.  With the score, 31-26, Eli Apple came up huge with an interception and after a solid return the Soul took over in plus territory with the chance for the lead.  Kizer marched down the field, and hit DeAnthony Thomas for a 14 yard go-ahead touchdown pass.  With only 1:20 left on the clock, Cody Parkey made a huge mistake as he kicked the ball out of bounds and gave the Guardians a shortened field while only being down one.  Geno got started right away as he hit Brandon Banks for a 37 yarder down the seam.  After back to back 7 yard runs from Ty Montgomery, Geno approached the line looking to spike the ball and setup the game winning field goal, but the Guardians ran a fake spike, caught the Soul off-guard and hit Charone Peake for the game winning touchdown pass.  The 61,367 Soul fans in attendance were still in shock as the Guardians ran off the field as if they stole something.

“Pro Football is Back in Oakland”

April 29, 2022

Oakland, CA - Roy Choi and Choi Football & Entertainment LLC, the new owners of the San Diego Fleet, has announced that his 2023 XFL expansion team would be representing Oakland, California.  Choi then announced Oakland native, former NFL all-pro and intriguing new co-owner, Marshawn Lynch to a huge applause from the crowd.

Marshawn Lynch revealed to the crowd that the team would be named the Oakland Panthers.  The name references the indigenous Bay Area cougar, Oakland's involvement in the rise of the Black Panther Party in the 1960s and the blockbuster Black Panther film directed by Oakland native, and also new member of the ownership group, Ryan Coogler.

Lynch then announced former San Diego Chargers' Head Coach Mike McCoy as the franchise's leading man.  Kurt Bryan was named the Offensive Coordinator and Mike Stoops as the Defensive Coordinator while Lynch, himself, would serve as the General Manager. The team will be playing their home games at the legendary Oakland Coliseum.

Lynch finished the press conference by announcing that due to the rising cost of living in the Bay Area, the team would be providing lodging and meals to their players in addition to their regular salary.

“Brock Outduels Luck in Texas Showdown Round 2”

June 3, 2022

Houston, TX - With the score sitting at 17-7 in the late third with Dallas on top, Houston seized the moment and took the game.  Brock Osweiler hit TE Rico Gathers for a 6 yard score to make it a one possession game.  Dallas scatback Lance Dunbar caught a screen pass, and went 18 yards before Roughnecks' LB Sua Cravens hit him from behind and caused a fumble that fellow LB Malik Jefferson scooped up to end the third quarter.  Osweiler would turn the turnover into a quick touchdown when he found Justice Liggins for a 9 yard score and the team's first lead.  Now trailing, 21-17 Andrew Luck found Roughnecks' corner TJ Heath with his first interception of the game.  Houston's Sergio Castillo would add 3 points before giving the ball back to Luck.  Luck would put together a nice drive before once again having a pass land in the arms of a Roughnecks' defender, this time it was Kendrick Lewis who snagged the errant pass.  Osweiler would then put the game away with a picturesque drive that took the remaining 8:08 off the clock and ended with a 1 yard plunge from backup RB D'Onta Foreman.

Re: XFL 2020

I have relaunched this league with inspiration from the USFL league from this board. I retconned it to begin in 2015 instead of 2019, and I’m working on developing the website for it now.

I’m hoping you guys support this new version of the league much like you did this original one. The website for this league will have a comment section where I encourage you to give me your thoughts and opinions. It really helps. Thanks guys.
