“Calgary Stampedes From the CFL to the XFL”
April 7, 2022
Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation announced that the Calgary Stampeders would be leaving the Canadian Football League and joining the XFL for the 2023 season. The 2018 and 2021 CFL Champions would be sitting out the 2022 CFL season in order to begin preparations to join the XFL next year.
While Dwayne Johnson, who was a member of the Calgary Stampeders in 1995, is the leading spokesperson of the Stampeders, but he's not the only big name to be introduced. Former Calgary Stampeders' Quarterbacks Doug Flutie and Jeff Garcia are also part of the impressive ownership group. Dwayne Johnson announced that the successful Calgary coaching staff would remain mostly intact with Dave Dickenson returning as Head Coach along with Brent Monson and Pat DelMonaco as the Defensive and Offensive Coordinators respectively, and John Hufnagel as the General Manager. New faces would include former Stampeders great, and current TSN host, Henry Burris as the Quarterbacks coach and former Stampeders and XFL's San Francisco Demons' great Kelvin Anderson as the Running Backs coach.
However, the Stampeders weren't done with announcements quite yet as part owner, Jeff Garcia took the stage. The Stampeders would be bringing quite a few of their best players with them, including three time CFL Champion and three time CFL Most Valuable Player, Bo Levi Mitchell. Other players on the rosters include RBs Ka'Deem Carey, Don Jackson and Jerome Messam, WRs Bryan Burnham, Markeith Ambles, Reggie Begelton, Kamar Jorden, Hergy Mayala and Eric Rogers, OL Shane Bergman, DL Micah Johnson, DeShawn Williams, Dadi Nicolas and Folarin Orimolade, LBs Cory James, Nate Holley and Alex Singleton, DB Tre Roberson and Raheem Wilson.
In related news, Stampeders' part time owner, Doug Flutie, took the stage last and announced that his company, Doug Flutie Maximum Football, has signed a deal with the XFL to create a videogame for the league starting in 2023.

“Dallas' Undefeated Luck Continues in Maryland”
April 12, 2022
Baltimore, MD - It was all Dallas in the first quarter as the Renegades jumped on the Brigade big early and led 17-0 after one, but Devontae Booker got the Brigade on the board with their first possession of the quarter with a 6 yard punishing run. However, no momentum was gained as Andrew Luck drove the length of the field and found Kaelin Clay for a 13 yard touchdown pass. Blake Bortles then connected with Jordan Matthews for a 37 yard score that made the score 24-14 before Austin MacGinnis hit a Field goal before the half. The Brigade then tallied a field goal in the third for the only score of the period to bring the score, 27-17 entering the final stanza. A Devontae Booker 21 yard scamper made the game interesting at 27-24 but Luck was tired of messing around and decided to seal the game when he hit Jeff Janis for a 10 yard score that left the final Brigade touchdown as a futile attempt at a comeback.

Ottawa's been pretty unstable recently. If it were an all Canadian round of expansion, I would prefer Edmonton with BC and Winnipeg.

I’m not real sure I “should” add those three teams next. I really don’t think this XFL needs any more of a Canadian footing than it already has. I also will not be adding BC ever just because of my state name rule, I don’t like to name teams with the state name rather than the city and that’s also true with provinces. Just not a fan. If they were called Vancouver maybe they’d get in. I’m also a sucker for team names and logos and quite frankly the rest of the CFL teams have really really lame logos.
But I honestly have no idea who two of the other three expansion teams will be located yet tho. With new ownership taking over the San Diego Fleet and being granted one of the 2023 expansion franchises, I expect one of the new expansion teams will be located in California. So either Sacramento, San Jose, San Francisco or Oakland.

My comment was for a hypothetical all-Canadian expansion. I also think BC is dumb because everyone knows Vancouver as one of the most iconic Canadian cities. It would like a team in Boston being called Massachusetts to appeal to teams in Worcester or team in Chicago called Illinois so they could get ore fans in Rockford. Even though LA tends to do poorly attendance-wise in Spring Football, I think a team in NorCal would make sense, just based on market size. If it were up to me, I would do Oakland, Edmonton and either Sacramento or Phoenix, but I think you really can't make a bad choice for expansion.

“Caleb Williams Struggles Big at Home”
April 19, 2022
Chicago, IL - It was a bad first half for the should be college freshmen, Caleb Williams against the Chicago Enforcers on Friday night. The Enforcers defense jumped on him early with two first half interceptions to put the game, 23-6 at half time. Caleb showed his elite potential on one drive in the third quarter that ended with a 7 yard Donnell Pumphrey touchdown run, but he couldn't maintain that momentum as Chicago controlled the game and clock and finished the game with three 4th quarter Tristan Vizcaino Field Goals to please the 52,376 Enforcers' fans in attendance.

I get that and I completely agree. I won't be doing an all-Canadian expanion anytime soon. I actually like the Hamilton Ti-Cats logo a lot but not a huge fan of the name, and I just don't think it makes sense to add Hamilton to the league currently. Winnipeg and then Edmonton would probably be the next two in my pecking order. I am leaning towards Oakland for the next California team, and I'm pretty open for the other two expansion spots.
