Just a heads up, Tarantulas have absolutely no bearing on Toronto at all. Be like calling a team in Dallas the Sharks or Dolphins.
That's true. The funny and scary thing is that the Toronto Raptors short list back in the crazy 90s included Beavers, Bobcats, Raptors, Dragons, Grizzlies, Hogs, Scorpions, Terriers, T-Rex, and Tarantulas. The short lists for the new teams of the 90s were always wild.
Between crazy color schemes and outlandish team name ideas, I'm forever grateful my favorite team wasn't founded in the 90's. However, the minor leagues continue to baffle me with what they consider a good idea for a team, see: Rocket City Trash Pandas.

The 90s truly reached the highest highs but had the lowest lows as well.

The AltFL design process is moving quickly. The polls are getting devoured really quickly. We have hit our typical max number of votes for Group C. So I"ll start to tabulate the results and get them ready for reveal. If you have any last minute name suggestions for Group D get them in now. Stay tuned today for the Group C names.

Trouble in Orlando:
Believe it or not, for the second time in ALT history we have a THREE WAY tie for first place. Philadelphia of the AltHL required a three-way run off. Orlando follows that historical honor with three names of their own. Please vote on which of the finalists you prefer. The choices are Galactics, Wizards and Orcas. Challengers was a close fourth. Funny enough despite a variety of Orange themed names - they did not fair very well.
TEAM ORLANDO -
Time to reveal Group C!
An interesting group of team names.
Stickman joins the party with his naming of the Copperheads. Like many have noted, there was a big push to name the Tennessee Oilers the Copperheads back in the 90s. They went in a different direction back then but we are exploring the road not taken. Copperheads one with 73 points. They were followed closely by the Bloodhounds at 71.
QCS brings us the Emperors. The Emperors were the runners up in the AltHL. They won today with 89 points. They were followed by Sentinels and Dukes.
The Philadelphia Brawlers are the champions for this one. They won convincingly with 81 points. They were followed by Rebels and Keystones. They were nominated by Edgeworth.
Scorpions was destined for our Arizona franchise. The runner up was the Phoenix Scorpions. The Arizona one won with 88 points - Phoenix had 86. The next team were the Thunderbirds with a distant 71 points. Dan O'Mac.
Grizzlies were the champions here. Stickman with his second win of the group. They paced the group with 78 points. Cascaders, Steelheads followed with 70 each.
Time to vote on Group D!

TEAM SAN ANTONIO -
TEAM SALT LAKE CITY -
Alignment Decision
The winning alignment design was Option B. 4 Conferences.
Fun Analysis
While we have ended up with a number of unique and interesting names for our teams. We had a lot of team names that were nominated for multiple cities. There were 21 names that were nominated more than once. With that said some of the popular names were Pioneers, Legends, and Kings (four noms each). Second place were the Hogs with nominations of 5 cities. And the name that won out was STARS (or some form of it) had 7 nominations. Just thought it was fun.
Coming Up
In a day or so after the Group D results have been tabulated we are going to officially begin the logo design process. So be on the lookout for all of the official rules and guidelines. Remember that your Owner Lottery points are helped by participating in the design process. For the AltHL the people with the most submissions happened to win the most polls. So give yourself a chance by giving it a go. And if you aren't a designer, work with someone on your idea.

Congratulations to all the winners...filled with anticipation for Orlando's result too (You know which one I'm rooting for).
A little question: Grizzlies won Portland's vote, but it's still on the list of options for Toronto...was that a typo or are you open to an "American Grizzlies/Canadian Grizzlies" solution?
