Hate to say this, but I did not nominate Bolts, my idea was Buffalo Buffaloes, the Bolts were nominated by Burmy. Glad to see all my other suggestions did well! Congrats to all the names who won. Big fan of the Cyclones and Bolts name!
My vote for the next round is the following:
Nashville Stars: Named after the cities history of Country Music Stars.
New York Flames: Atop lady liberty stands high her torch, her flames.
Orlando Wizards: A twist on Disney World
Philadelphia Rattlesnakes: Inspired from the Gadsden Flag.
Phoenix Roadrunners: A common animal found in the area.
Portland Cascaders: While a "Cascader" isn't a thing yet, Portland is in the Cascadia Subregion and I thought this was a pretty unique name.
My bad. Congrats Burmy!

Thank you Dr.Pepper and Gritty! It's an honor having one of my names get picked...I trust the Bolts will be a VERY strong, solid brand. Anyway, on to my nominations:
Brooklyn Beat (Thought we'd go with the most populated borough here...it references the borough's history of producing some of hip-hop's greatest icons)
Nashville Wings (References the statue of winged goddess Nike in Nashville, the "What Lifts You Wings" mural in the city, and the famous Nashville hot chicken)
Orlando Orcas (nice alliteration, homage to Sea World too)
Philadelphia Suns ("Always Sunny" reference, but also references the Rising Sun Chair in Independence Hall, which Benjamin Franklin famously remarked about after the Constitution's ratification in 1787)
Phoenix Scorpions (frequently found in the arid atmosphere...GET OVER HERE!)
Portland Growlers (Wanted to move from rain, forests and roses...Portland's also famous as the home of some of the best beers you'll ever taste. A growler, of course is a big beer jug, but also a wild animal, for which the Pacific Northwest is also famous)

Nashville Spartans Nashville has (or used to have) a Greek pantheon. I think this fits nicely, like “Titans”.
New York Reign
Orlando Juicers Homage to the Floridian citrus industry.
Philadelphia Keystones Obvious reasons.
Pheonix Heat Obvious reasons.
Portland White Stags Re-nominated AltHL name.

Glad people liked the Cyclones name! Had that name in one my sim leagues and thought it was too good to keep to myself
Anyway, here are my nominations:
Nashville Blues: Nashville and country/blues music are inseparable
New York Royals: New York was named after the Duke of York, and its the largest city in the US so they're bound to get the "royal treatment" as a city
Orlando Archers: Both Apollo and Artemis in the Greek mythos were archers, a more unique nod to the space program
Philadelphia Liberty: Like Nashville, Philadelphia and patriotism go hand-in-hand, so Liberty could be referencing the Liberty Bell or the creation of American liberty
Phoenix Thunderbirds: Named after the mythical thunderbird in Native American mythology, and references the Thunderbirds of the US Air Force which were founded at the nearby Luke AFB
Portland Lumberjacks: Another typical nickname, PDX gets the forest theme treatment with the 'Jacks

Nashville Ramblers- Fits with the country culture of Nashville.
Queens Kings- I just like this name a lot.
Second: Orlando Orcas- Burmy beat me to it.
Philadelphia Brethren- Philly is known as the city of brotherly love.
Arizona Tribe- Arizona and the Phoenix area especially is full of Native American culture.
Portland Volcanoes- There is a dormant volcano in the city limits of Portland.

Is there a reason my LA name didn’t make the poll?

New York Streets (arena team last year, loved the name).
Brooklyn Beat is good too
Brooklyn B-Boys
Brooklyn Blasters (music theme)
I would love a street theme.
I'd like a desert theme to Phoenix, like Dusk or Sandstorm. Colors magenta and sand.

Tennessee Smokies - reference to the mountain range
2nd New York Emperors
Orlando Tropics - reference to the warm weather, lots of different routes you could take this team's imagery (Flamingos if they don't win Miami, standard palm tree route, etc.)
Philadelphia Brothers - another take on the brotherly love theme
Arizona Firebirds - maybe a little obvious...
2nd Portland Lumberjacks
Emperors and Lumberjacks are also go-to names for those cities, so I can't think of a better suggestion
Offline
Nashville Phalanx - Traditional Greek Miltary Formation of a wall of shields and spears.
New York Sentinels - New York's Finest
Orlando Sorcerers - Give a nod to the Mouse and the Sorcerer's Apprentice
Philadelphia Rebels - A little obvious on this one.
Arizona Mustangs - The Spanish People gave access to strong breeds of Horses that once roamed the Southwest with the Native Americans.
Portland Sasquatch - Bigfoot Weirdness in Portland?
