“Your 2021 Baltimore Brigade!”
January 1, 2021
Baltimore, MD - This is our preview for your 2021 Baltimore Brigade.
2020 Recap: The Baltimore Brigade is a 2021 XFL expansion team.
2021 Roster: QBs EJ Manuel and Blake Bortles, RBs Devontae Booker and Javorius "Buck" Allen, WRs Derel Walker, Russell Shepard, Jordan Matthews and James Quick, TE Jordan Reed, DL Michael Bennett and DaMontre Moore, LBs Larry Dean and Sam Acho, DBs Logan Ryan, Jason Verrett and Cyrus Jones and K Caleb Sturgis
2021 Preview: EJ Manuel vs Blake Bortles should be the most intense XFL QB battle of the preseason but regardless of who starts should struggle behind this offensive line. The expansion teams all have talent, but not much of it exist in the trenches. The running back duo of Booker and Buck Allen should be an exciting pair, but again behind this offensive line, they won't find much for running lanes.
“Your 2021 Philadelphia Soul!”
January 1, 2021
Philadelphia, PA - This is our preview for your 2021 Philadelphia Soul.
2020 Recap: The Philadelphia Soul is a 2021 expansion team.
2021 Roster: QBs DeShone Kizer and Aaron Murray, RBs Carlos Hyde and Wendell Smallwood, WRs Braxton Miller, De'Anthony Thomas, Terrelle Pryor and Justin Hunter, TE/FB Ryan Hewitt, DL Micah Johnson, LBs Darron Lee, Markus Golden and Aaron Lynch, DBs Eli Apple and Tony Jefferson and K Cody Parkey
2021 Preview: Head Coach Jim Caldwell will try to get the ball out of QB DeShone Kizer's hands as soon as possible with this suspect Offensive Line. Expect Smallwood and Hyde to do more catching than rushing in this offense. Caldwell had to know what kind of offense he was going to display with the addition of gadget players like Thomas, Miller, Pryor and Hewitt. This team is going to be interesting but not consistent enough to make a playoff push.
“Your 2021 Washington Valor!”
January 1, 2021
Washington, DC - This is our preview for your 2021 Washington Valor.
2020 Recap: Last season as the Washington DC Defenders, QB Cardale Jones was one of the biggest dissapointments in the league. He lost his starting job after an 0-3 start before regaining it for the final regular season game of the season where the Defenders got their only victory on the season to finish 1-5 and in last place in the East.
2021 Roster: QBs Cardale Jones and Tyree Jackson, RBs Orleans Darkwa, Donnel Pumphrey, Jhurell Pressley, WRs Leonte Carroo, Deonte Thompson, Eli Rogers and Josh Doctson, TEs Evan Rodriguez and Khari Lee, OL Luke Bowanko, John Greco and Vladimir Ducasse, DL Bennie Logan, LB Dominque Easley, Anthony Johnson, AJ Tarpley, and Sam Montgomery and DBs Matt Elam, Rahim Moore, Elijah Campbell, Doran Grant and EJ Gaines, P Hunter Niswander and K Younghoe Koo
2021 Preview: The Defenders got a name change but not much else is different with this team. Orleans Darkwa should be the starter at Halfback and if the running game gets going maybe the former National Championship Quarterback from Ohio State can rebound and flash his immense potential for this team. The WR corps has everything he needs and they played well for him last year. Head Coach Pep Hamilton is on the hot seat and has to find some consistency with his offense in year 2.
“Your 2021 New York Guardians!”
January 1, 2021
New York, NY - This is our preview for your 2021 New York Guardians.
2020 Recap: NFL veteran Mark Sanchez finished the inaugural XFL season as the league's #2 passer in passing yards but with that he only threw 2 TD passes and 5 interceptions over the course of the six game season. The team finished 3-3 and made the playoffs but without much of a threat in the air the team fell to the Birmingham Iron in the first round of the playoffs. TJ Jones and Charone Peake made for an absolute perfect pairing through the air however with their combination of speed and size.
2021 Roster: QBs Geno Smith and Luke Falk, RBs Tre Madden, Ty Montgomery, Tim Cook, Andre Williams, WRs Charone Peake, DeAngelo Yancey, TJ Jones, and Tanner Gentry, TE Bucky Hodges, OL Jarron Jones, Ian Silberman and Brandon Fusco, DL Cavon Walker and Ra'shede Hageman, LBs Ben Heeney, D'Juan Hines and Jayrone Elliott, and DBs Dravon Askew-Henry, Jamar Summers and Briean Boddy-Calhoun, P Brad Wing and K Cairo Santos
2021 Preview: Mark Sanchez retired and former fellow New York Jet bust Geno Smith was brought in to be the replacement. Geno Smith has more left in the tank at this point in his career than Mark Sanchez did. Head Coach Rex Ryan also clearly plans on running behind his physical offensive line by bringing in FB Tre Madden and halfback Ty Montgomery this offseason. The defense will also be tough and physical under the tutelege of Rob Ryan. This team isn't built for a long playoff run but in this weak division, expect New York to run away with a playoff spot early.
Credit for these uniform concepts belong to WideRight who was kind enough for me to use some of his designs.

“Your 2021 Orlando Predators!”
January 1, 2021
Orlando, FL - This is our preview for your 2021 Orlando Predators.
2020 Recap: Current Baltimore Brigade QB EJ Manuel was under center last season as the team finished a dissapointing 2-4 and outside of the playoff picture. Garrett Gilbert did step in for him at the end of regular season finale and show enough flashes to give this team hope moving forward. Alfred Morris was 4th in the league in rushing and was the entire offense for the Predators but now he's back in the NFL. The defense got exposed last season as well. Upfront they could rush the passer, but couldn't stop the run while the secondary got picked apart.
2021 Roster: QBs Garrett Gilbert and Connor Cook, RBs Spencer Ware and De'Veon Smith, WRs Charles Johnson, Rashad Ross, Donte Moncrief, Ardarius Stewart and Cameron Meredith, TEs Nick O'Leary and Tim Tebow, OL Seantrel Henderson, Martez Ivey, Sam Young and Adam Bisnowaty, DL Eli Harold, Deiontez Mount, Nikita Whitlock, Jacquies Smith and Tank Carradine, and LBs Hardy Nickerson Jr. and Terrence Garvin, DBs Keith Reaser, Cody Riggs, Tarvarus McFadden and Jalen Collins and K Andrew Franks
2021 Preview: Gilbert is an upgrade over Manuel but losing Alfred Morris is going to really hurt this team. The addition of Tight End Tim Tebow will put butts in the seats down in Orlando for the league but how much will he actually contribute? Head Coach Steve Spurrier likes to throw the ball around the park but this team is built real stout upfront with two power backs. Expect Spurrier to get in his own way this season and for this team not to be able to find their identity.
“Your 2021 Tampa Bay Storm!”
January 1, 2021
Tampa, FL - This is our preview for your 2021 Tampa Bay Storm.
2020 Recap: This is a 2021 XFL expansion team.
2021 Roster: QBs Jameis Winston and Josh Dobbs, RBs Devonta Freeman and Charcandrick West, WRs Corey Coleman, Justin Hardy, Bennie Fowler, Jordan Taylor and Chester Rogers, TE Jordan Leggett, DL Sheldon Day and Carl Davis, LBs Vontaze Burfict and Mark Barron, DBs Kayvon Webster and Eric Reid and K Blair Walsh
2021 Preview: Owner Tom Dundon went out and spent some money to make this team instantly competitive. Tony Dungy as the coach is a great get for the league. One of the most well respected guy even in NFL circles. Jameis Winston is a top 2 QB in this league. Devonta Freeman has gas left in the tank and can do it all on the football field. Corey Coleman and Justin Hardy will be real hard to guard out wide. If Vontaze Burfict and Mark Barron can keep their personalities in check this defense will be real physical and no one will run on them. But like the other expansion teams, will the offensive line hold them back?
“Your 2021 Birmingham Iron!”
January 1, 2021
Birmingham, AL - This is our preview for your 2021 Birmingham Iron.
2020 Recap: The Iron are the XFL defending Champions but early in the season that certainly didn't look to be the case. Expected starting Quarterback Brandon Weeden was lost before the season and Luis Perez wasn't the answer. Luckily, this team stole Chris Streveler from north of the border, the CFL, and this squad didn't drop another game. Trent Richardson was very succesful behind the stoutest Offensive Line in the league and Kelvin Benjamin did nothing but catch touchdowns.
2021 Roster: QBs Luis Perez and Mike Glennon, RBs Trent Richardson and Zach Zenner, WRs Kelvin Benjamin, Reece Horn, Saeed Blacknall and Austin Proehl, TE Jace Amaro, OL Chance Warmack, Cyrus Kouandjio, Arie Kouandjio and Jylan Ware, LB Manti Teo, Jeff Luc and Nyles Morgan and DB Trevor Williams and P Jeff Locke
2021 Preview: Championship game MVP Chris Streveler signing with the Arizona Cardinals was clearly not ideal for this team's chances at a repeat. Mike Glennon was a good addition, but he's not as athletic as Streveler. He also needs to prove he can stay healthy because Perez showed he won't get it done. Trent Richardson is the perfect RB for this team, they're huge upfront and move people, but if an injury happens, Zach Zenner will prove more valuable. That was a great addition. This team will take a step back as a championship contender but in a weak Eastern division, they could still reign king.
“Your 2021 Memphis Express!”
January 1, 2021
Memphis, TN - This is our preview for your 2021 Memphis Express.
2020 Recap: This is a 2021 XFL expansion team.
2021 Roster: QBs Johnny Manziel, Christian Hackenburg and Zach Mettenberger, RBs Lamer Miller, Zac Stacy and Denard Robinson, WRs Brice Butler, Paul Richardson, SJ Green and Terrence Williams, TE Lance Kendricks, DL Dylan Wynn and Clayon Laing, LBs Stephone Anthony and Will Compton, DBs Blake Countess and Ciante Evans, and K Roberto Aguayo
2021 Preview: This team is a complete disaster. Not sure how they were designed from a roster stand point. Justin King is the youngest General Manager in the league and this should serve as a learning experience for the young man.
Credit for these uniform concepts belong to WideRight who was kind enough for me to use some of his designs.

I may have to work that into the storyline somehow. Darn template I have has the Nike logos built in so sometimes they’re hard to hide and sometimes i just straight up forgot to cover them up. Sorry about that.
I’m not the best at creating helmets, jerseys and especially new logos.

I don't mind, just thought that XFL step there game. I would have thought they signed with Under Armour or Phenom Elite.

“2020 Championship Game Revenged in San Diego”
February 16, 2021
San Diego, CA - This certainly wasn't a game between the two teams that played for the 2020 XFL Championship. Neither team looked like those squads. The Fleet could move the football up and down the field behind new starter Cody Kessler but they really struggled in the redzone where last year's starter, Josh Johnson, led the league. However, it was enough to get pass the anemic Birmingham Iron who couldn't even muster a first down in the first half as they walked into halftime down 14-0. Trent Richardson and the Offensive Line got a little momentum going in the 4th when the Fleet defense was worn down but this team has a lot of work to do.

“Week 2 Displays West vs East”
February 23, 2021
Houston, TX - Heavy rain was in the forecast and it came to fruition Friday night in Houston. Cairo Santos came in huge for the New York Guardians as he went 5 for 5 on Field Goals as both offenses really struggled moving the ball starting in the 2nd quarter when the rain started really pouring down. Houston Roughneck starting QB Brock Osweiler led the first possession of the game down the field for a TD drive setting up the stage for a high scoring affair but the weather never allowed that to happen. Fun and muddy game that gave the 23,127 Roughnecks fans in attendance a great show.

“XFL Steals from the CFL Again!”
February 25 , 2021
Stamford, CT - With the Canadian Football League entering their offseason Free Agency period, the XFL, for the second year in a row snuck in and became a major player for some of the league's best players. While the XFL didn't make a play for any of the CFL's marquee names, they struck gold on stealing some of the league's top defenders and Offensive Lineman. The Offensive Line was a small area of concern for the league as it's always hard to find lineman but that concern is now squelched.
The XFL was able to stash away the following players in the developmental XFL2 prior to them going through waivers following Week 3 games:
OL Stanley Bryant, SirVincent Rogers, Sean McEwen, Brandon Revenberg, Matt O'Donnell, Chris Van Zeyl, Brendon LaBatte, Sukh Chungh, Travis Bond and Joel Figueroa, WR Duron Carter, RB Chris Rainey, DL Charleston Hughes, Almondo Sewell, Ted Laurent, Willie Jefferson and Ja'Gared Davis, LBs Kyries Hebert, Henoc Muamba and Don Unamba, DB TJ Lee, TJ Heath and Nick Marshall, K Lewis Ward and Justin Medlock.
Despite the average XFL salary of $82,000 being less than the $93,000 average salary of the CFL's, the league has been real appealing to the American born players as the league appears to be more stable. The CFL season is also 21 weeks long compared to the shorter 14 game season. The XFL average salary is expected to jump to $102,000 for next season however and the CFL has been having some issues since cancelling their 2020 season. The Montreal Alouettes has closed operations already and the Toronto Argonauts appears to be next as the league intends to play their 2021 season with only 7-8 teams.
“Percy Harvin Has Announced He's Coming out of Retirement!”
February 27 , 2021
Orlando, FL - Percy Harvin has announced that he has signed with the Tampa Bay Storm in an attempt to relaunch his NFL career. He said that he fully intends to use this opportunity to see if he can still play at that level. Harvin will not make his debut this weekend, but he should serve as a nice weapon for Jameis Winston once he's up to speed.
In other news, the San Diego Fleet added former Jacksonville Jaguar and USC standout Marquis Lee this morning. Lee will also wait til Week 4 to make his debut.

“Week 3 Begins the Intra-Divisional Stretch”
March 2, 2021
Tampa, FL - Jameis Winston didn't disappoint on NFL Network Friday night for the XFL or the Tampa faithful. Jameis threw for over 300 yards, and for 5 Touchdowns against possibly the worst team in the league, the Orlando Predators. The Predators aren't sure which side of the football is worse at the moment. Starting QB Garrett Gilbert just looks overwhelmed out there and backup Connor Cook didn't look much better when he entered the game in the 4th quarter. Expect Cook to get the start next week versus the Iron. As far as the Storm are concerned, the offense ran for over 200 yards behind Devonta Freeman and Charcandrick West as the Storm put up a league record 563 yards of total offense. The Storm will look to repeat that performance next week versus the equally hapless Express.
