Koroli Khirov
Despite taking a step back offensively and defensively, Koroli Khirov finished first due almost entirely to the unbeatable goaltending of Anatoly Sharov. His goaltending was so far beyond any other goalie in the league, that he was also named league MVP on top of best goalie. Scoring was led by Grigory Timofeyev with Yuliy Abdulov close behind. Kodiak Mikhailov led the defensive unit and was named the club's new captain.


Atletika Kamezan
Atletika Kamezan improved drastically over the previous year's 3rd place finish and losing record thanks to an influx of young talent. Rookies Ziemowit Kowal and Mikhail Tsereteli provided a spark to the offense which was led in scoring by the comparatively elderly top line of Vladislav Matveyev (40), Trofim Kolesov (43), and Vsevolod Sharapov (28). Goaltender Dmitri Kryukov was solid, however young Finnish goalie Aaro Honkala got into a few more games this season challenging Kryukov for the starting role.


Shakhtery Gorabinsk
The most impressive improvement by far came from Shakhtery Gorabinsk who more than doubled their previous year's win totals for a third place finish. The club's scoring was led by Misha Bogolyubov who led the entire league in scoring. He was assisted on the top line by Dmitri Denisov and Dmitri Aksyonov who contributed quite a bit on the scoresheet as well. Defense was solid as well with Czechoslovakian rookie Stanislav Jílek joining veteran Bergsveinn Gautursson on the top pairing. The young goaltending tandem of Vladimir Tarasov and Konstantin Krylov did exceptionally well with Tarasov getting the majority of starts. Shakhtery changed their look a little by enlarging the numbers and adding an outline making them more visible to fans.



Matrosy Mezhdupovets
Although their 4th place finish would not suggest it, Matrosy Mezhdupovets still had a decent season with a respectable 16-14 record. Defenseman Ivan Nikitin actually led the club in scoring thanks in part to his partner on the top defensive pair, Andrei Preobrazhensky stepping up defensively. Goaltender Yaromir Titov was excellent in net yet again.


Tigry Nizhnereka
In their first season in the league, Tigry Nizhnereka (Tigers) turned in a disappointing but not surprising 10-20 finish. Finnish winger Herman Mäki led the club in scoring, but it was veteran goaltender Vladimir Voloshin who kept the club competitive. Several players decided to retire at the end of the season unable to keep up with the pace of the league. The club was nicknamed the "golovnyye boli" or headaches because of their bright stripes and their habit of jumping ahead to a quick lead and then blowing it.



Geroi Dnitrolovsk
In last place, the Geroi Dnitrolovsk (named the Heroes in honor of the 13th century battle of Dnitrolovsk) did about as well as they were expected to do in their first year. Their only real offensive weapon, center Vsevolod Vinogradov led the club in scoring while the top defensive pairing of Vladimir Kirilov and Vladimir Nosov did their best to clear out opposing offensive players. Goaltender Vasily Stalin began the season as the started but lost the job to 19 year old Sergei Kuznetsov part of the way through the season.

Skjalfandi Ísbirnir
After finishing third the past two years, the Ísbirnir got their act together and finished first in the league. For the first time in league history, Jotunheim's Bjalfi Aslaksson did not win the scoring title thanks to an explosive season from Skjalfandi's Kjói Gygjarsson who finished as top scorer and league MVP. The Ísbirnir's amazing offense made up for mediocre defense and goaltending. The Ísbirnir beat the Jotunheim Jotnar in the Jotun Cup championship thanks to a hat trick from Gygjarsson.


Jotunheim Jotnar 
In their first season not finishing first, Jotunheim wasn't far off with only one fewer win than the first place Ísbirnir. The club's scoring was led by Bjalfi Aslaksson who only missed the scoring title by 1 point. His linemate Sigbjørn Eydisson also set personal records for scoring notching 17 goals. Defense was lacking with only the top pairing of Christian Lykke and Aigir Waerness having any real experience. The rest of the defensive corps was all under 20. Onäm Ruud was excellent in net winning the top goalie honors while Kristgeir Hallsteinnsson did a decent job backing him up.


Fljotsbork Tröll
The Fljotsbork Tröll struggled again missing the 500 mark by one game. The club's scoring was led by Ioketill Seimursson although get didn't get much help elsewhere. Iver Hallsson and Himri Marsson worked as a team minding the net for the Tröll. Management was unhappy with the season and promised to make some big changes going into the next season.


Kaldaross Karíbó
The Kaldaross Karíbó (Caribou) did respectably in their first season in the league with a record of 10-13-1. The Karíbó rolled four lines unlike any of the other clubs. They got most of their scoring from the top line of Nikolas Rosisson, rookie Styrkar Balkisson, and Ulf Sigvaldisson, although they also got a fair amount of offense from the British Hamstead brothers on the third line. The Karíbó received decent goaltending from the tandem of Rio Finnlaugsson and Adrian Ögrason who they had picked up as free agents in the offseason.

For the first time due to a tie in the standings, a championship game was played for the Mester Kop. After the 1922-23 season, a championship game and later a playoff would take place to decide the champions.

Saelsby Sæler
At the end of the 1921-22 season, the Sæler were sold to Saelish-American millionaire Clarence Andersen who brought in some top American talent during the off-season in center George Crosley, winger Arthur Greene, and defenseman Roy Carlyle. George Crosley led the club in scoring and won the title of league MVP for helping take the Sæler from last place to a first place tie. Goaltender Mikael Gytkjær played much better thanks to the top defensive pair of Roy Carlyle and Christian Rask being able to clear more space for him. At the end of the regular season, the Sæler were tied with Østerhavn for first place, so a championship game was held which the Sæler won 5-3. The Sæler changed their look a little moving their logo to the middle of their chest and increasing the size.



Østerhavn Skibsbygger
Once again the Skibsbygger had a fantastic season tying the Sæler for first place in the regular season. Lone Zohore led the league in scoring again with an impressive 24 goals in 24 games. Defenseman Aage Kahlenberg was perhaps the best player in the league dominating everyone he played. He finished second in the MVP voting by just a few votes. Goaltender Holger Rohde did well again in net wining the award for top goalie.


Aukia Indfødte
After an impressive 1921-22 campaign, the Aukia Indfødte looked to be ready to take over the top spot but suffered greatly from injuries in the 1922-23 season. Munamee Kuliktana led the club in scoring, but lost his center, Thomas Ahlberg early in the season to a shoulder injury. Starting goalie Ståle Salmarsson suffered a nasty cut and had to be replaced by Marius Fjoelvarsson for a stretch of games. Fjoelvarsson couldn't match Salmarsson's level of play, and the Indfødte fell to a 10-13-1 record.

Middehall Senatorer
Finishing in last place, the Senatorer just couldn't seem to string any wins together or gain any momentum leading to a 9-14-1 record. Bendik Kristensen led the club in scoring, but was well past his prime. One bright moment came when rookie defenseman Svend Rasmussen had a whale of a game scoring 5 goals in a 8-1 beatdown of the Aukia Indfødte. He only scored another 2 goals in the season. Jørgen Reiten and Preben Mortensen worked together splitting goaltending duties.

1923 Offseason

A lot of moves were made including some big trades involving a two-time scoring champ. None of the leagues allowed for trading during the season.

In the 1923-24 season, due to unreasonably long games, ties were allowed after a 5 minute overtime period.



Shakhtery Gorabinsk
The aggressive moves Shakhtery Gorabinsk made in the offseason definitely paid off with the club winning their first King's Cup. The top line of Artyom Dubinin, Grigory Timofeyev, and Misha Bogolyubov (who led the league in scoring again) was almost unstoppable. The defense was powerful as well with young Czechoslovakian defenseman Stanislav Jílek working with Marat Kravchuk on the top defensive pair. Vladimir Tarasov elevated his game and was excellent in goal with Sergei Kuznetsov chipping in as needed. 


Koroli Khirov
Koroli Khirov had another outstanding year finishing second with only one win less than first place Shakhtery Gorabinsk. Yuliy Abdulov led the club in scoring followed closely by defenseman Kodiak Mikhailov. Once again, goaltender Anatoly Sharov was amazing in goal winning top goalie for the third year in a row. Khirov added three stars to their uniform to represent their three King's Cup championships, however after finishing second, the superstitious players decided they were bad luck and peitioned to have them removed for the next season. 



Matrosy Mezhdupovets
The battle for the top position in the league was a very tight one with the top four clubs finishing within 3 wins of each other. Matrosy Mezhdupovets just edged Athletika Kamezan out of the third spot with one loss fewer than Kamezan. Center Kostya Myshkin led the club in scoring aided by his wingman Aleksandr Izmaylov. The defense was led by Ivan Nikitin who battled back from an ankle injury early in the season. Goalie Yaromir Titov finished second in voting for top goalie after an excellent performance.


Atletika Kamezan
Missing out on the top three by one tie, Athletika Kamezan suffered from bad luck. Boasting by far the best defensive corps in the league led by the top pair of Andrei Kutepov and Kazimir Turov. Left winger Vsevolod Sharapov led the club in scoring with 19 goals. Goaltenders Dmitri Kryukov and Aaro Honkala split goaltending duties evenly with Kryukov finishing with one more win than Honkala. 


Geroi Dnitrolovsk
Geroi Dnitrolovsk wasn't terrible in the 1923-24 season, but they weren't great either. Suthri forward Svante Federman led the club's scoring effort while Vladimir Kirilov and Vladimir Nosov led the defense. Goaltender Konstantin Krylov did significantly better than the tandem of Vasily Stalin and Sergei Kuznetsov the year prior. Geroi Dnitrolovsk also changed their look a bit adding more white to their sweaters.



Tigry Nizhnereka
Tying their win total from the year before, Tigry Nizhnereka fell to last place in the 1923-24 season. Despite respectable scoring from the top line of Maxim Nazarov, Gotthard Brecht, and rookie Nikolai Loktionov, the Tigry just couldn't keep the puck out. Starting goalie Konstantin Tamarkin did his best, but couldn't hang with the powerful offenses of the Khokkeynaya Liga Koroly. Rookie backup Kolmogorov Obolensky played in several games getting some important experience.
