Re: AltLB - 2026 Season

A loss to the Blackbirds just kinda happened, and I'm going to put the blame for this one on the pitching staff, who just couldn't throw strikes or get their hitters out. Hopefully they figure it out for this one, as the undefeated Thunderbirds are coming to town, and we need a win to avoid dropping 3 games back on them in the AL. We are going to be in the cream home uniforms for this one, and are featuring former Thunderbird Willy Adames, who we just acquired from the Atoms and the change of scenery has done good things for the shortstop, who went 5 for 22 at the plate against the Blackbirds, with a single, a double, and three home runs, netting himself six runs and 4 RBI, with a trio of walks as well. #WeAreOK

Re: AltLB - 2026 Season

We stayed winning against the Muskies, and with shenanigans happening elsewhere in the AL our lead is a slightly more comfortable two games ahead of the Bison. Oh, and look where we have to travel this week, our biggest league rivals (outside of the inferior bird team in LA) in the Oklahoma City Bison. They're looking to recover from a loss to the Blackbirds and get revenge for their loss to us in the second week of the season, so like always it won't be an easy game. Featured for us this week is our longest-tenured player in 1B Freddie Freeman, who hit 5/17 last week against Milwaukee for 3 doubles, 2 homers, 3 RBI's, as well as drawing 10 walks and stealing a base to boot. #RideTheLightning

Re: AltLB - 2026 Season

Back-to-back losses is never a good thing, but when your pitching is as poor as the Bison's has been, it's not all that surprising when the other team hits the ball well. However, we're still in the playoff picture, so we'll head north to take on the OTHER City team, the Kansas City Colts looking to get back in the win column, with all hopes of the AL's top seed relying on other teams to knock of the Thunderbirds now. We'll be in the standard road uniforms for this one, with the gray pants, navy jersey, and the standard cap. Featured is electric outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, who bounced back from some costly errors last week by going 9 of 30 at the plate with 5 singles, 3 doubles, a home run, 2 walks, and 2 hit by pitches, setting himself up for 5 runs an 3 RBI. #WeAreOK

Re: AltLB - 2026 Season

A blowout win in Oakland gives us the sweep over the Squirrels and keeps us just ahead of the pack in the NL. We stay on the road for our next game and head to the other side of the continent for a matchup with the battered and bruised Havana Cubans. Los Cubanos have a whopping 11 players out due to injury, so this is a case of good timing for the Atoms as we look to continue our win streak. Speaking of good timing, we certainly rostered Zack Littell at the right time. The righty hurler's first full game as an Atom saw him strike out 12 batters over 13 innings while allowing just 3 earned runs, earning a quality start and a pair of wins. #UpAndAtom

Re: AltLB - 2026 Season

The Bison could not get anything going the second time around, sweeping the season seasons and we now are 3 games up on the AL lead. We return home, and because it's our first home game in June, Gila River Field is hosting Pride Night against the Boston Masons, who were coincidentally the same foe we faced last year celebrating Pride Month.  Both teams will once again have special patches commemorating the occasion and this year we will be matching our field raffle winnings to donate to LGBTQIA+ causes. Featured for us this week was a player we just acquired from OKC in utility man Curtis Mead, who filled it at our vacant 3B position at hit 6/21 for 3 homers, 8 RBI's and drew 4 walks at the plate. #RideTheLightning

Re: AltLB - 2026 Season

Bouncing back from back-to-back losses, the Bison lit up the Colts and moved to 8-3 on the season. However, this week will be a big one for both teams, as the Deacons come to Oklahoma City with both teams in a tie with Milwaukee at 8-3 and chasing the Thunderbirds, who finally stumbled last week. We're going to be in the standard cream uniforms for this one, as we look to notch another win. Featured this week is starting pitcher Gage Jump, who went 13⅓ innings, striking out 8 while only allowing 1 earned run, notching two wins and two quality starts. #WeAreOK

Re: AltLB - 2026 Season

Welp. That was not a good game on our part. Our pitching staff gave way and allowed Boston to outscore us and hand us our first loss on the year. We can't mull over the loss for too long, as the rest of the AL is hot on our tails and the fact we have to hit the road to Kansas City for an attempt to keep our advantage over the league. Featured for this week is 2B Matt McLain, who may have only hit 5/15 last week, but made the most of those hits for 3 home runs and 5 RBI's. #RideTheLightning

Re: AltLB - 2026 Season

Despite all the injuries, the Cubans put up a fight, and it came down to the wire, but we held on and head back to the States with a win, extending our now-league-leading win streak to six games. A huge reason for that streak has been versatile rookie Sam Antonacci. The Springfield, IL native has been finding all sorts of ways to get on base; against Havana, he singled five times, doubled three times, walked twice, and was hit by four pitches. We'll look to make it seven in a row as we head back home to take on the Carolina Griffins on Pride Night. We're breaking out our Fields of the Future jerseys as we look forward to a future where our LGBTQIA+ siblings are accepted and loved by all. #UpAndAtom

Re: AltLB - 2026 Season

For the second straight week, the Atoms got a tough fight from an underdog team, but were able to hold on as we beat the Griffins to pick up win #11 on the year. We stay here in Vegas to take on our next opponent, the Dallas Sidewinders. Dallas may be 5-7, but they've been much better than that statistically, so expect a good fight from them. Featured for the Atoms this week is 1B/OF Troy Johnston, who came up huge in the clutch against Carolina, with a double, a homer, and 4 RBI on Sunday alone. #UpAndAtom

Re: AltLB - 2026 Season

We took out on anger against Kansas City to avoid a potential losing streak, and now we come back home to get back a winning streak as the Memphis Kings come to town. They have yet to win a game all year despite the talent on their hitting core, but they could come alive any moment to make us work harder for a win. Featured for us this week is arguably our player of the year so far in SP Davis Martin, as the waiver wire pickup added to his stellar record by pitching a 6 inning, 6 strikeout outing against the Colts and earned the win and quality start without allowing a run . #RideTheLightning
