It's Opening Day! The Atoms are excited to get back out onto the field for another season of AltLB baseball. Much is different around the league, but we're starting this season much like last one, as we host the Oakland Squirrels in our first game of the year. We'll be breaking in our new-look black alternate jerseys and home white pants, along with the same cap you know and love. Like the Bison, we're spotlighting a hard-hitting first baseman to kick off the year, as Pete Alonso will look to build on last year's fantastic performance. #UpAndAtom

B-B-B-B-Baseball! Throw me, throw me, throw me the ball because I'm gonna CRUSH IT! It's Opening Day for the reigning (and from what it seems only) CL champion Arizona Thunderbirds, and we're sporting a new look in hopes of finally reaching the World Series. The league has also saw some change, as we moved back into the AL and are traveling to Seattle for the first time ever to play the Samurai. Featured for our first week is superstar SS Elly De La Cruz, who hit .264/.336/.440 for 22 home runs and led the team in stolen bases last year with 37. #RideTheLightning

The Atoms got their season off on the right foot with a win over the Squirrels. We'll take a short flight over to Los Angeles, where the Condors await for our first and only matchup this season. LA is also coming off an Opening Day win, taking down the Colts, so both teams will be fighting for the right to go 2-0 on the year. Their pitching staff will have to contend with 2B/OF Brendan Donovan, who got off to a blisteringly hot start, going 6-14 with 2 HRs, 4 RBI, and adding a steal, two walks, and two HBP (in consecutive plate appearances, no less). #UpAndAtom

The Bison opened the season at home and knocked off the Sidewinders, welcoming our rivals back to the show with a loss. From there we head west to take on new/old AL foes, the Arizona Thunderbirds. The Bison and Thunderbirds were the top two teams in scoring last week, so this is already looking like an important matchup. As we're on the road, the Bison will be in the main cap with the navy top and gray pants in this one. And we'll be featuring one of the staff aces, Trevor Rogers, as he went 7 innings, striking out 5 without allowing a run to notch the QS and the Win before handing things over to the bullpen. #WeAreOK

The Thunderbirds showed the Samurai how it's done in the AltLB, soundly defeating them in their home opener and getting the 2026 season off to a good start for us. Unfortunately, those good times will have to come crashing down as we will host our home opener against the reigning AL and reining champions in the Oklahoma City Bison. Knowing our past history, this will be anything but fun for either of us. Featured for this year is SP Randy Vásquez, who started in spot of our injuries and tossed 6 innings of scoreless ball for 8 strikeouts and, eventually earned a quality start and a win. #RideTheLightning

Take 2 : Electric Boogaloo. We're still doing an International Series game in Berlin with the host team, the Minnesota Gemini, and the San Diego Pandas.
We need a logo for the event and patch that would be on the jersey for the game. The patch can be either the same as the full logo or a simplified version.
Requirements:
Full Logo - the name of the event, "International Series". Date(s), your choice on entire week or just the first day. Identification of the teams participating (San Diego Pandas and Minnesota Gemini)
Patch - the only requirement for the patch is the name of the event, International Series.
Although not required, something that indicates the location of the game (Berlin, Germany) is recommended. Same with the AltLB logo or name.
We'll set the due date on this to be April 18th at 10pm. All submissions should be sent to AltLB.DC@gmail.com

It got a little closer than we would've liked late in the week, but the Atoms held on against the Condors to wrap up our second win of the season. Now, it's time to head back home for a matchup with the Minnesota Gemini. We'll be in the home whites for this one, and we're featuring SP Parker Messick, who joined the team late last season and has been stellar ever since. Against LA, he twirled 11 innings, striking out 11 while giving up just a single earned run, getting a quality start and a win. #UpAndAtom

There weren't many teams that could've outperformed us last week, but the Thunderbirds handed us our first loss since August 3rd, 2025, and only our second loss since the 2024 Alt Series final. Now we continue our road trip as we head to the Bay Area to take on the Oakland Squirrels. With both teams coming in at 1-1, neither team wants to fall below .500. The Bison are in the road uniforms for this one, with the standard cap, the navy jersey and the gray pants. Featured for the Bison is 2B Brice Turang, who has been one of the best players on the Bison since last year's trade to acquire him, as this past week he completed the cycle, going 9/23 at the plate with 6 singles, 2 doubles, a triple, a home run, which accounted for 4 runs and 5 RBI, with 6 walks and 3 stolen bases one top of all that. #WeAreOK

We manhandled our rivals in OKC to hand them their first loss in nearly half a calendar year and now take an early lead in the AL. We hit the road out west to our biggest rival Condors to see who will take a lead in who is the biggest and best bird. We'll be breaking out the alternate teal jerseys for the first time this year, as well as featuring C/1B/DH Ben Rice, who hit 8/19 against the Bison for 3 home runs, 8 RBI's, 2 doubles, and drew 8 walks. #RideTheLightning

We bounced back with a win over Oakland, and that puts us at 2-1 as we head back home to host the Condors at Cox Ballpark. The Condors started with a tough stretch, and come in at 1-2, so we look to hand them their 3rd loss and push them further from the playoff picture. We'll be in the standard home uniforms for this one, with the standard cap, and cream over cream. Featured this week is long-time Bison pitcher Ranger Suarez, who went 6 innings against the Squirrels, allowing 0 earned runs and striking out 6 on their way to a win and quality start. #WeAreOK
