With the close of the regular season, the playoff field is set.
The Sawblades got the win and claimed the West Conference and top overall seed, so the playoffs will go through Portland.
Minnesota held off a scrappy Arrows team to win the Central Conference and earn the second seed.
Milwaukee demolished Detroit to close the season and win the East Conference and claim the third seed.
And no changes for Québec, despite the loss. The had already won the Northeast Conference, and didn't get what they needed to change from the 4 seed.
The Wild Cards didn't see much change, and Edmonton, Chicago, and Toronto all won, and retained the 5th, 6th, and 7th seeds, respectively.
The 8th seed saw all the drama however, as it came down to the final day. With Ottawa's loss, they needed Winnipeg, Halifax and Calgary to lose to claim the final spot, but Halifax knocked off Boston to create a three way tie, eliminating the Guardians. Then it came down to the points between Winnipeg and Halifax. Despite a furious final push, Halifax didn't quite get what they needed, and the defending champions get the tiebreaker over the Kingfishers by less than 5 points.
So the matchups are as follows:
8. Winnipeg Arrows @ 1. Portland Sawblades
7. Toronto Terriers @ 2. Minnesota Loons
6. Chicago Ghosts @ 3. Milwaukee 48ers
5. Edmonton Wildcats @ 4. Québec Owls

A win over Detroit to close out the regular season gives us our first Conference Championship, and therefore our first home playoff hockey game. We welcome our rivals from Chicago to Manpower Arena, as the Ghosts finished second in the Central Conference to claim a wild card spot. Since we're at home, we'll be in the standard gold uniforms for this one. Coming off a week where he paced the team with 2 goals, 20 hits and a block, gritty crowd favorite Jack McBain is our featured player this week. #ShotsOnUs #AnotherRound

The Wildcats managed to avoid backsliding into the playoffs with a huge comeback win over our rivals in Calgary. Unfortunately, the Sawblades also pulled off a comeback win of their own, meaning that despite sharing the second-best record in the league, we'll be heading out on the road for round one of the playoffs. Where are we headed? To Québec, where the Owls are looking to bounce back from a loss in their own provincial battle. To prove that we're better than the fifth seed, we'll be relying on C Jack Eichel, who was the team leader in points, with 74, and assists, with 50. #WhatTeam #RallyCats
