Welcome everyone for year five the the AltLB! The Bison locked up their second championship in 2025, and then we went through the Refre5h and almost every team got a new or updated look for this 2026 season. What I need to know is who would be returning for the upcoming 2026 season!

It also seems highly likely that we will be affected by a 2027 MLB work stoppage. As such, here's how that will play out so you can plan ahead.

1) Full season lost
In the situation that all of the 2027 MLB season is lost, all player values at the end of 2026 will go up for the next season, but with no baseball they will remain frozen until 2028 and you will retain the rights to those players. For example a free agent you picked up in 2025 that you kept for this coming 2026 season would go to $4 at the end of the season, but with no baseball in 2027 would still be $4 in 2028.

2) Partial season lost, no baseball for partial season
If part of the season is lost, we will go through an abbreviated off-season with the interest sheet for one week, one week for keepers, the draft, and then the season will start after that. Player values would increase for 2027 and then increase again for 2028.

3) MLB plays with non-MLBPA players
If the owners decide to play baseball in 2027 with replacement players (or "scrubs"), the AltLB will not happen during the time and will revert to option one or two depending on when they no longer use replacement players. 

4) No work stoppage
This seems unlikely, but it could happen. If it does, we will be business as usual in 2027.

Due date to fill out the interest sheet is Wednesday, February 18th at 10pm Central Time. Once that is done, the Keeper sheet will be finalized and shared.
