Welcome to the 2025 AltCAA season. This season sees a return to a 20 team format, as we return every owner from last season plus Gilbert, n00bthatpwnz, and 716Sports at Kentucky Tech, Lake Country Tech, and Buffalo State respectively. As such, we also will have one owner from the Alt Sports Council running a second team, as Sky will return Playa del Rey. Also seeing changes: Steelman will no longer be running Lone Star but will instead move his team to Oregon as Deschutes and Sky will be running Chicago Tech instead of Queen City State.
This also means some slight alignment shifts for the upcoming season:
East Coast Conference:
Hallows Headless Horsemen
Hershey Wildcats
Pennsylvania Commonwealth Big Blue
St. Brendan's Navigators
St. Laurent Patriotes
Heartland Athletic Conference:
Michigan Institutional Bucks
Minnesota A&M Threshers
Riel Rebels
Twin Cities Lakers
Wichita A&M 29ers
SuperWest Conference:
Deschutes Pronghorns
Hawaii State Hawks
Ohio A&M Fightin' Muskrats
Playa del Rey Penguins
Southern Colorado Stegos
and the returning Southern V Conference:
Buffalo State Stampede
Chicago Tech Violets
Johns Island Angels
Kentucky Tech Gryphons
Lake Country Tech Raccoons
The storyline version is that the Southern V after losing all their teams except Johns Island replenished with a bunch of new teams, regardless of location just to survive. In the non-storyline universe, this was to preserve as many of our traditional rivalries and keep teams in their historic conferences as much as possible.
As we are back at 5 teams in every conference, and conference games matter, your schedule will be 8 conference games (a home and away game against every team also in your conference) leaving you with 3 non-conference games. You can schedule TWO non-conference games on your own, allowing you to continue any non-conference rivalries you may have and allowing me flexibility to make the schedule work for the final non-conference game. To make them official, BOTH teams need to inform me via Discord, PM on the boards, OR email to AltLB.DC@gmail.com. The league will take your requests for the home team in these into consideration, but cannot guarantee home/away team requests. This is optional, and any un-scheduled games will be determined by the league. Only other rule associated with non-conference scheduling is that Chicago Tech and Playa del Rey, having the same owner, are prohibited to play unless both make the playoffs and the scheduling works out for that.

As we come to the close of open scheduling, it's time to look forward to the next step, the keeper deadline. College football is the biggest player pool we have, so for those of you joining (Buffalo State, Kentucky Tech, Lake Country Tech, and Playa del Rey) you'll not be assuming keepers this season. For the other 16 teams, you can select as many or as few players as you'd like from your final roster from last season. The keeper sheet will have everyone who was drafted in the NFL draft marked off, as well as many players that also signed as UDFA that I could find shortly after the draft. It is your responsibility to check the players that are not highlighted to ensure they are still in school. If anyone has transferred in the off-season, that is also not reflected, and you can easily find what team they're on now on Fantrax.
Here is the Keeper Sheet: It's here, behind this link!
The due date on this is the same as the AltFL, Saturday, August 16th, 2025 at 11:59pm Central and need to be sent to AltLB.DC@gmail.com.

Okay, so now for the draft was determined by combination of the best teams picking first, as always, and a Lottery! As such, the top 8 picks were determined by the team's finish last year:
1. Hallows
2. Hershey
3. Hawaii State
4. Johns Island
5. Michigan Institutional
6. Pennsylvania Commonwealth
7. Minnesota A&M
8. Wichita A&M
As for picks 9 through 20, we instituted a lottery! The new teams with no players were all given 140 entries, and it decreased from there, with Riel getting 105, St. Laurent getting 90, Southern Colorado with 75, St. Brendan's with 60, Twin Cities gets 45, Chicago Tech with 30 entries, Deschutes with 15, and Ohio A&M getting 5 entries. The Wheel was spun (and watched by Darknes, Kingsfan11, idm, DireBear, and H-Town) and the results are as follows:
9. Lake Country Tech
10. St. Brendan's
11. Southern Colorado
12. Buffalo State
13. Deschutes
14. Playa del Rey
15. St. Laurent
16. Kentucky Tech
17. Riel
18. Twin Cities
19. Chicago Tech
20. Ohio A&M
