Brainerd might want to forfeit just to get the bus on the road early. It would make work easier the next day.

1907 Kellogg Cup Semifinals
Eveleth Hockey Club vs Brainerd Hockey Club
Whether it was because Brainerd was gassed after their overtime battle with Two Harbors the day prior or just because Eveleth is that good, either way it was another blowout at the hands of the Mighty Reds. Eveleth netted 3 in first, 5 in the second, and 2 more in the third while holding the Lumberjacks to just two for the whole game. The Eveleth Hockey Club is heading to the first ever Kellogg Cup Final, defeating the CLHL champions by a score of 10-2.
White Bear Lake Hockey Club vs Mill City Hockey Club
Unlike the first game of the day, the evening semifinal matchup was a classic with White Bear Lake and Mill City going to war for a chance to take on Eveleth in the Final. The Millers got on the board first but White Bear answered just 2 minutes later. This happened a few more times with Mill City taking a one goal lead only for the Bears to tie it up a few minutes later. White Bear Lake took their only lead of the game early in the third when they went up 6-5. Mill City flipped the roles and were the ones tying the game moments later when they tied it 6-6 just 49 seconds after the WBL goal. They added another one shortly thereafter to retake the lead and extended their lead to two with under five minutes left in regulation. That last goal was the final nail in the coffin for the White Bears who were left off the board for the rest of the contest. Mill City was able to hold on, punching their ticket to the Kellogg Cup Final with an 8-6 victory over White Bear Lake.
For years now people have debated who was the best hockey team in the state of Minnesota, Eveleth or Mill City? Wouldn’t you know it, we will finally have an answer to that question. The Reds and Millers set to face off on the evening of March 14th, 1907 in a winner-take-all contest to see who will take home the Kellogg Cup and prove once and for all that they are the best team in the state.
It all comes down to this. Who will etch their names into the history books? The very question that sparked interest in a state-wide league to begin with… Eveleth or Mill City?

I would be shocked if the Evs can't pull this one off

1907 Kellogg Cup Final
Eveleth Hockey Club vs Mill City Hockey Club
The stage was set, the Hipp was packed, and the teams were ready as the puck was dropped for the very first Kellogg Cup Final. As you might expect, the crowd primarily consisted of people from Minneapolis cheering for Mill City along with some neutral fans from St. Paul who tended to pull for Eveleth. There were of course the friends and families of the Eveleth players, but most residents work in the mines and weren’t able to make the trip to St. Paul. Mill City gave their fans plenty to cheer about in the first, lighting the lamp thrice to take a 3-1 lead into the first intermission. Eveleth made some adjustments and came out flying in the second, turning the game on its head and unloading 6 goals in 20 minutes to make it 7-5 Eveleth heading into the third. The Millers struck first in the third to pull within one, but a pair of Reds goals put them in a three goal pit down 9-6. The whites rallied late and got one more to make it 9-7, but Eveleth was able to hold on until the referee blew the final whistle.
The Eveleth Hockey Club has won the 1907 Kellogg Cup! Becoming the first Minnesota Amateur Hockey League Champions as they defeat the Mill City Hockey Club by a score of 9-7.

1907/08
Outside of hockey, the Iron Range experienced one of the biggest labor disputes in Minnesota history during the offseason. From July 20th to August 15th nearly 15,000 Mesabi Range miners went on strike in an attempt at getting higher wages, an eight-hour workday, & safer work conditions. The strike was primarily led by Finnish immigrants, leading mining companies to stoke the flames of ethnic tension amongst the immigrant workforce to discourage worker solidarity. In the end the strike failed to accomplish all of their goals, but they did get a 10% pay raise and 8 hour work days. Unfortunately, a lot of striking miners, particularly Finns, were blacklisted and had difficulty finding work after the strike. The Mesabi Iron Range Strike of 1907 laid the groundwork for future labor organizing on the Range.
There were three clubs in the cities who built new rinks to call home. After two years on Medicine Lake, the Plymouth Hockey Club announced their move to 250 seat Plymouth Creek Park. West St. Paul is also moving off a lake, moving from Thompson Lake into the 250 WSP City Rink. And finally we have White Bear Lake who are moving off the town's namesake lake and into White Bear Ice Rink which has bleacher seating for about 250 spectators.
We also had 2 expansion clubs and 8 existing teams make identity changes. Both expansion clubs are set to join the Red River Hockey League which now has 11 members and will play a 30 game schedule with each team playing the rest of the league 3 times. Teams that get two home games against an opponent one year will play two on the road against them the next year.

There were eight teams that made changes to their identities this offseason, starting in the Central Lakes Hockey League where one team introduced a new uniform.
Sauk Rapids Hockey Club
Sauk Rapids came out with a new set that replaces the white stripes with black but leaves the purple. The stripe thickness is also thinned a bit and an SR logo has been placed on the front of the sweater in white.
