The city of Minneapolis experienced a tragedy on the morning of January 10th when a fire broke out at the famous West Hotel. Opening in 1884, the West Hotel was the first grand hotel in Minneapolis. It featured elaborate architecture and was considered to be the most luxurious hotel west of Chicago for a time. The fire ravaged the hotel, killing 10 and causing irreparable damage to the building.
Minneapolis Hockey League
Another year, another title for the Mill City Hockey Club. The Millers were able to hold off a very talented Lake Shore club to clinch their 6th consecutive Washburn Cup by 4 points. Lake Shore was led by a pair of brothers who tore up the league on offense, nearly dethroning the team some consider the best in the country, but fell just short in the end. Minneapolis, Powderhorn, & Anoka also had great hockey teams and each finished with winning records. Richfield bounced back a bit from last year with their star player returning from his injury a year ago and carrying the team to a 9 win season. Brooklyn and West Minneapolis struggled a bit compared to the rest of the league, finishing well below .500 for the year. In last place we have Plymouth who really had a tough go of things in their inaugural season, losing the season series against every other team in the league and winning just thrice.

St. Paul Hockey Association
It was a three team race for the Capital Cup in the SPHA between White Bear Lake, St. Paul Athletic, & Como Park with all three spending time in first at some point during the season. When the dust settled after the 22 game grind it was the White Bears of White Bear Lake who took home their first ever title, edging out the Saints by just one win. Como was also in the hunt but a 3 game losing streak to end the season spoiled their opportunity and left them settling for third. The St. Paul Hockey Association was an incredibly competitive and balanced league with pretty much anyone capable of getting a win on any given night. East Side, Stillwater, Phoenix Athletic, North St. Paul, South St. Paul, Rose, & West St. Paul each finished within four wins of one another, swapping places in the standings all year until settling where you see them now. The only exceptions to the rule come from the H-towns on the shores of the St. Croix with Hastings and Hudson combining for just 3 wins against the rest of the league. It was a disastrous year for Hudson, going from 10 wins to just 2 in the span of one season. The main reason as to why this happened was a series of injuries that forced the team to play with at least one replacement player on their roster for nearly the entire season. These replacements were far less experienced skaters than their regular players and could hardly keep up when playing teams like White Bear or St. Paul Athletic, losing multiple games by double digits.
Thus concludes the 1905/06 season. Let me know what you think, comments are always appreciated!

Do any of the teams from the Minneapolis league still play any of the teams from the St. Paul side? Even as exhibitions?

There weren't any exhibition games this year but interleague exhibitions could potentially be a thing as soon as next year...

Did I just become another Stickman personality?
But I figured if any league would do interleague, I would've assumed Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Lol whoops! Fixed that. But yeah, there will definitely be interleague exhibitions, and the twin cities will probably have more since teams are closer to each other.
