Whoohoo! Ottawa’s back in the playoffs, baby! I was also shocked to see the defending champion Gold Stars miss the postseason.

Hopefully Underhill can play well this post season, kind of had a slow finish.

I don’t know how much longer Halifax can keep up their losing ways, I fear the small market they’re in ain’t gonna keep supporting a constant loser….

It is pretty crazy. What's even crazier is that in each of the last 3 seasons, an East Division team has made it to the McCallister Cup only to miss the playoffs the next season. That is just how competitive the division is and why good teams unfortunately still miss the playoffs.

Unfortunately Halifax has been put in the toughest spot possible. They are a solid team, not quite playoff calibre, but they definitely have a worse performance due to the division they are in. That being said, it is concerning, not just for Halifax, but other small markets like Winnipeg and Regina, who have also struggled as of late. Those teams will want to try to turn it around soon if possible.

I also have concerns about the small market teams, particularly Winnipeg & Regina. I'm afraid that a Denver Goldmining Mogul would buy one of the three teams and bring it to Denver.

Denver is a potential market for expansion (to join Kansas City whenever their stadium is completed) if I recall correctly, but if the NAAF goes with Seattle or Omaha instead, then those concerns about the Falcons or Wheat Kings moving to Denver could increase.
That being said, it would suck for any of those aforementioned teams to move IMO. I am also hoping the Mariners stay in Halifax for as long as they can, especially as I consider them to be lovable losers in a way.

I know the offseason hasn't started yet, but which team will win the Pierre Thibaudeau sweepstakes? We'll find out eventually.
