Well, that was a fine international break. We're coming out of it and seeing health on two of our top players, Bukayo Saka and Nicolas Jackson. They may not be ready quite yet, but returning to full health is coming up soon. This week, we see the Thunderbolts coming to Cairo, as we host FC Alfa Roma at The Pyramid. We're featuring young forward Jørgen Strand Larsen, as the Norwegian has done a great job filling in for Nicolas Jackson as we're in the main kits for this one. #TheGoldStandard

Atlético have now dropped their third in a row, but are somehow still within striking distance of the postseason. We'll need to hit the ground running coming out of the break if we want to make a late run at it. Up first, we've got a home fixture against Olympique, who are themselves battling for the top spot in the table, so this'll be a tough one. This week, we're featuring M Tomáš Souček, who scored our only goal of the match against Joburg.

After the midweek action, not a lot has changed in the overall standings, but with 4 games left, everyone but Tokyo remains in a position where they could make the playoffs. The big mover is St. Mungo FC following their upset of Amsterdam KVV, pushing them from 13th to 10th in a tie with Joburg City 94 but holding the tiebreaker by sweeping Joburg on the season.

Following a draw against Roma, we're sitting in a tougher situation, needing to make up 6 points on Sydney Harbour FC and 5 on Olympique de Bastille to claim the top spot. With no games against them left, all we can do is play our games, win our matches, and hope for them to stumble. We'll stay in Cairo for our next matchup, as St. Mungo FC is coming to Egypt for a game at The Pyramid. They're coming off an upset of Amsterdam KVV and are in the thick of the playoff hunt, so we'll have to bring our best. We're at home, so of course we're in the main kit, and we'll be featuring Jørgen Strand Larsen again, as he was far and away our top performer last week by punching in our only goal of the contest. #TheGoldStandard

Another match, another loss. Atlético haven't earned ourselves a point since the end of February, and we're now faced with another fixture facing a playoff team, as we welcome Bukchon Hanok Stripes to Camp Vell. Stripes are a bit of a tamer opponent than Olympique, but are still well clear of us. This time around, we're giving the graphic honor to M Mateus Fernandes, who earned an assist in the midweek match.

With 3 weeks remaining, only two teams are mathematically eliminated, FC Tokyo Sakura and CF Federal. Both, however, have the chance to affect the playoff race, as both have at least one game against the teams still in contention for the final playoff spot over their remaining three games.
Speaking of the playoffs, this was a big week, as three more teams have clinched their playoff spot to join Inter Istanbul, Sydney Harbour FC, Olympique de Bastille, and Eye of the Sun FC. Those three teams are Amsterdam KVV, 1. VfV 1158 Munich, and Bukchon Hanok Stripes.
That leaves 5 teams and one playoff spot with three weeks remaining. Club de Ragatas do Independencia is in the driver's seat, sitting 3 points ahead of FC Alfa Roma, both St. Mungo FC and Joburg City 94 are 4 points back, and Atlético Barcelona 7 points back. This week sees Club de Ragatas do Independencia heading to Australia to take on the team at the top of the table, Sydney Harbour FC. FC Alfa Roma hosts Bukchon Hanok Stripes, fresh off their first ever playoff berth in their first ever AltLiga season. St. Mungo hosts Olympique de Bastille, who are sitting only one point back on the top of the table. Joburg City 94 hosts the defending champions, 1. VfV 1158 Munich. And Atlético Barcelona heads to Japan to face FC Tokyo Sakura as they go for the season sweep to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

Atlético won a match! It's been a while since we could say that, as we come away with an upset of Bukchon Hanok. This week definitely won't feature an upset, as we head to Japan to play one of the few teams below us on the table, FC Tokyo Sakura. Hopefully, we can avoid joining Sakura in being eliminated from the postseason by getting another win this time out. Leading the way on defence will be D Noussair Mazraoui, who finished our last game with four clearances, three tackles won, and two interceptions against Stripes.

A second straight loss leaves Eye of the Sun reeling, but we get back at it for this big game, as we host CF Federal for the final home game of the regular season. The Pyramid will be rocking in this one, as we look to get back on track and start moving back up the ladder. We'll be in the main kits for this one, and feature midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, who led the way with a great effort in the loss last week. #TheGoldStandard

Week 24 was a big one, as we saw three additional teams have their playoff hopes crushed, as St. Mungo FC fell to Olympique de Bastille, Joburg City 94 was crushed by 1. VfV 1158 Munich, and Atlético Barcelona was upset by bottom of the table FC Tokyo Sakura.
Speaking of Olympique de Bastille, with their win and Sydney Harbour FC's loss, the Arcs have taken over the top spot on the table with 2 games to play. There are only 3 other teams in a position they could overtake them for the top spot, as Sydney Harbour FC is only 2 points back, GEO Cup winners Inter Istanbul is 3 games back, and Eye of the Sun FC is 5 points back.
With defending champion 1. VfV 1158 Munich, Amsterdam KVV, and Bukchon Hanok Stripes all locked into the playoffs somewhere between the 3rd and 7th spot, we have just one playoff spot still up for grabs, as Club de Ragatas do Independencia is currently 6 points up on FC Alfa Roma. Roma's only chance to get into the playoffs requires them to win out over the bottom two teams on the table, CF Federal and FC Tokyo Sakura, and have Ragatas lose out to Eye of the Sun FC and Joburg City 94. If those four games all play out that way, Roma will also need to make up a 222.5 point differential since Ragatas and Roma split the season series.

Following the win over CF Federal last week, we sit at 4th on the table. A win in either of the last two matchups will guarantee a home matchup in the first round of the playoffs, and there's an outside shot at the top spot in the table. To get there, we'll need to win out and get some help, so we'll focus on our side of things. This week, we head to South America and Brazil, as Sao Paolo and Club de Ragatas do Independencia host Eye of the Sun FC. Ragatas is still looking to lock up their own playoff spot, and a win this week will clinch it, so we'll be facing a driven team. We'll be in the clash kits for this one, and our featured player is goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who faced a plethora of shots last week, turning away seven while only allowing one against Federal. #TheGoldStandard
