With a big comeback win in Winnipeg, the Wildcats kept pace with the top teams in the standings. Uncharacteristically, we had a really strong day on Sunday to clinch the win, led by W Seth Jarvis, who finished the week with 2 goals, 3 assists, 4 blocks, and 7 hits. It was a good week to be a Wildcats fan. Not only did the Cats fend off a late surge from the Rovers to pick up our fourth straight win, but every team tied with or ahead of us in the standings lost. As a result, we're back on top of the Canadian Division and just one game back of the top-seeded Loons. This week, we finish out our three-game road trip in Portland, where we'll see if our recent success will translate to roller hockey. The Wildcats' winning streak came to a screeching halt in Portland, as we - somewhat uncharacteristically - had a poor showing on Saturday that turned a close game into a decisive Sawblades victory. Luckily, we did get some help in the standings, as Québec took a loss against Minnesota, keeping us atop the Canadian Division. Now, we return to Edmonton to face ... Québec. The Owls will be looking to avoid their third straight loss as they've slipped a bit in recent weeks, but it'll certainly be one of the biggest matchups in the league this week. Spearheading our gameplan will be the first goalie feature of the season, as Jeremy Swayman is looking like himself again. Following the nachos thrown on the ice on Tuesday in Winnipeg, distracting goalie Logan Thompson and allowing a Winnipeg Arrow goal, Manpower Arena will no longer offer nachos. We will not tolerate distractions to the players, and are ensuring that nachos are not a distraction on our home ice. Please blame the people of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, as their actions have led to this ban.

Another week, another perplexing loss. The 48ers are continuing to put the puck in the net, and are second in the league in scoring, but with a 6th straight loss, we're reeling. The silver lining? We're the unluckiest team in the league currently, 4 games worse than the projections show we should be. We can still rattle off some wins and make the playoffs, and we can play with anyone in the league. We head back to Milwaukee to take on the Racers. However, we're not going to host them at the Milwaukee Mile, because we're not racing, we're playing hockey, so we'll be at Manpower Arena. Though hosting the Racers outside at the Milwaukee Mile may now be a bucket list item for us.
