Re: The AltFL Season 2024

We grabbed a big win last week against the Stallions. This week, feeling the hurt of players needing rest and injuries, the Galactics are pulling from the reserves to grab a young WR in Calvin Austin III. Coming in one a pinch, we hope Austin makes a mark on the team as we head cross country to Los Angeles. (yes, after we just made a trade with the team...QB Aaron Rodgers will join us on the plane back to Orlando). We hope to keep the winning going as we take on the Sabercats. #ORLvsLA2024 #startthecountdown #preparefortakeoff #yesRodgersIsBack

Re: The AltFL Season 2024

Seattle had a big game against a tough opponent last week, and we completely shut down the Emperors on our way to a dominant win, and our first win against New York in the modern era. Now, we have another big game against a tough opponent, as we finish off our five-game East Division stretch in Buffalo. The Bolts are trying to win the East, while we're hoping we can catch up to them and Tennessee to improve our seeding. We've got an old friend coming back for the graphic as well, as we found DL Jeffery Simmons on the waiver wire, and he seems to have enjoyed his return to Seattle. Against the Emps, Simmons racked up four tackles, all solo, and had two big swing plays, falling on a fumble and later forcing one. #TipTheScales

Re: The AltFL Season 2024

The Steelheads could not stop a dominant Bolts offense, as Buffalo handed us loss number four on the season. That drops us into a tie with Utah for the division lead, and we have to be cognizant that there's still a chance we could fall out of the playoffs entirely if these last two weeks go poorly. Unfortunately, our next game is once again on the road against the other 11-1 team, the Tennessee Copperheads, so we definitely have our work cut out for us. We're featuring DB Grant Delpit, who racked up 10 total tackles (6 solo) in part due to how many times Buffalo got into our secondary last week. #TipTheScales

Re: The AltFL Season 2024

Another great outing from our offense put us over the top against Dallas, handing us our 5th straight win. And with that win, we've also clinched the Central! We're just playing for seeding at this point, and for our final home game of the year we welcome the Scorpions to the Windy City. It's also a blast to the past, as we're bringing out the throwbacks for the final home game as well, throwing back to some of our original uniforms in the 1920's. Featured for this week is edgerusher Micah Parsons, who has been on fire since coming back from injury, getting two sacks and eight total tackles against the Bandits last week. #BlownAway #WAFC

Re: The AltFL Season 2024

The Destroyers pulled off another one! In a nail-biter, we took down San Antonio for our second straight win, moving to 3-9 on the season. Sure, it’s been a rough year, but beating both Texas teams in back-to-back weeks is fantastic, honestly. Now it’s off to Philly for our last road game of the season, where the 7-5 Brawlers are waiting. It’s going to be a tough matchup, but we’re ready to keep this streak alive. We’ll be suiting up in our classic navy helmets paired with our grey alternate jerseys and pants for this one. Our featured player this week is linebacker Jordan Hicks, who had a standout performance against the Phantoms: 1 sack, four assisted tackles, and two solo tackles. #KingsintheWest

Re: The AltFL Season 2024

We had some underperforming players last week, an early injury from our starting linebacker, but we did enough to pick up the win over the Kansas City Scarecrows. With the win, we moved to 9-3 and need a win to lock up a playoff spot. I mean, we can also lock up that spot with losses by the Galactics, Brawlers and Bandits as well, but I'd prefer to take care of it ourselves. To do that, we head to St. Louis, Missouri to take on the Explorers. The Explorers haven't had things go as planned this season, but they have a plethora of talented players we will have to face. We're going to highlight wide receiver Terry McLaurin this week, who hauled in 5 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown in last week's win. #GothamKnights

Re: The AltFL Season 2024

Basically, we have 6 teams that could mathematically win the last two spots. Dallas, Philadelphia and Seattle are all 8-5, 1 game up on Kentucky, Orlando, and Portland. Kentucky, Orlando, and Portland need losses by 2 of the 3 8-5 teams, a win, and to have more points than the teams ending at 8-6. Dallas, Philadelphia, and Seattle could all win, and still have one miss the playoffs at 9-5. Dallas faces San Antonio, Philadelphia faces Buffalo, Seattle faces Portland, Kentucky faces Carolina, and Orlando faces Tennessee.

Tennessee, Buffalo, Chicago have clinched their divisions. Tennessee will be the 1 seed with a win over Orlando, a Buffalo loss to Philadelphia, or a loss, Buffalo win and maintain their points advantage (currently 157.6). Tennessee and Buffalo will be the 1 and 2 seeds, as if Chicago ties Buffalo, they lose the tiebreaker due to a head-to-head loss to Buffalo. Chicago can drop to the 4 see with a loss to Minnesota, a Utah win over Arizona, and Utah maintaining their points advantage (currently 91.9 points)

Utah, New York, Boston have NOT clinched playoff spots. Should one of them lose and all three 8-5 teams win, Seattle would be in by winning the West (due to head-to-head victory over Utah), the winner of Boston @ New York would be in, the other 4 teams would fill the other 3 playoff spots based on points.

Seattle and Utah are the only teams with three outcomes, they can win the West, get a Wild Card, or miss the playoffs entirely.

Only two games this week have no playoff implications: Los Angeles @ San Diego and St. Louis @ Kansas City.

Re: The AltFL Season 2024

Well, for the second week in a row, the Steelheads couldn't keep up with one of the top teams in the league, and we've fallen out of the West Division lead and within a game of missing the playoffs. As Dan so helpfully outlined (thanks Dan!), we could still win the division, or we could fall out of the playoffs entirely. If we want to live to fight another week, though, we'll likely need to snap this losing streak we're on and beat Portland. With the Grizzlies having fought their way to just one game behind us, they'll also be playing for their season, making this one of the most consequential editions of this rivalry game. For the most important game of our season, we're finally bringing out the big guns with WR Tyreek Hill, who snagged 6 receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown. #TipTheScales

Re: The AltFL Season 2024

We put Arizona to bed over Thanksgiving thanks to an excellent effort from our offense. We've already got the Central locked up, but our final divisional game against the Voyageurs will determine where we finish on the year. With a mess going on down below us to determine the final few playoff spots, we'll just chill on the road against Minnesota. For the final regular season game, we're featuring K Chase McLaughlin, who hit 4 for 5 field goals and 2 for 2 extra points last week. #BlownAway #WAFC

Re: The AltFL Season 2024

A loss to the Explorers that would've clinched a playoff spot, and now this game against Boston is IMPORTANT™. We host the Nightriders for the traditional game to close the season, with both of us in the same situation: A win and you're in the playoffs. A loss, and you may be watching the playoffs from home. So our status as one of only two teams to not have missed the playoffs in the modern era is very much on the line, and we're not planning to go down without a fight. We'll be in the standard home uniforms with the yellow helmet, yellow jersey, and white pants, as we celebrate Legends Night with the Emperors. We're celebrating one of our top players on the season this week, who is currently the #2 DB in the league, Nick Cross! #GothamKnights
