Re: AltLiga Season 2024-25

It may not have been like our game against Roma, but we still managed to take care of Tokyo and we're now on a bit of a winning streak. We're now off on a lengthy road trip (distance-wise), starting out by heading north to Istanbul to take on Inter. They are at where we were expected to be, as they're tied with a few other teams for the top of the table. At first helping off the bench, M Harvey Barnes has become one of our leading goalscorers, and had a goal and 2 shots on target against Tokyo last week.

Re: AltLiga Season 2024-25

Eye of the Sun is heading back to Cairo this upcoming weekend coming off a win over 1. VfV 1158 Munich in Germany. It was a close one, but adding three points on the table is never something to complain about. This week we host one of the two other teams tied with us atop the table, as we welcome in Amsterdam KVV. The Lions are also 5-0-1 and on a 4 game win streak. We look to break that streak and ensure we're at least tied atop the table. We're going to be in the standard main kits in this one, and featuring defender Micky van de Ven, who solidified the backline to open the opportunities for Nicolas Jackson and Bukayo Saka. #TheSunAlwaysRises

Re: AltLiga Season 2024-25

I don't want to talk about last week's match. Sloppy play from both sides made it a truly sickos game to watch, and while it was close, Atlético took yet another loss. To make matters worse, we also lost superstar attacker Son Heung-Min early on, and he won't be available for this match either, making our prospects of going into São Paulo and pulling out a win all the more difficult. On the graphic this week is M Adam Wharton, who provided almost all the offense we could muster, with half of the XI's six key passes and our only shot on target the entire game. #yuck

Re: AltLiga Season 2024-25

We had been trailing Istanbul the entire day, but we had a late surge in our offense and completed the comeback. Our winning streak is at 3 now after a horrific start, and now we head east to play top team Sydney Harbour, who rebounded after a loss, coincidentally against Istanbul. F Evanilson made a huge splash after signing him during the transfer window, scoring the game-winning goal on two shots.

Re: AltLiga Season 2024-25

Another victory for the Falcons, and Eye of the Sun FC notches a 6th win to move to 18 points. However, we need to go to Barcelona this week for a match with the Ibexes of Atlético Barcelona. Barcelona hasn't been at the same form as last year, but we're not taking them lightly. We're going to wear the clash kits in this one, as they were designed by the same company that designed Atlético Barcelona's clash kits, and will look good regardless of the kits that they'll wear. We'll be highlighting top performer from last week Bukayo Saka, who was more than twice as good as they second best performer for Eye of the Sun FC. #TheGoldStandard

Re: AltLiga Season 2024-25

Another week, another - wait, we won? Yeah, without our captain and top player, Atlético managed to pull off the upset and take down CRI to snap their losing streak and earn our second win of the season. We head back to Barcelona, where we've got a date with an even better team, Eye of the Sun FC. Fortunately, Son will be back, and we've got several other players that are close to being healthy as well. The player getting the highlight this week is a brand new face to the team, F Georginio Rutter, who assisted on Nathan Collins' opening goal, and scored a late goal of his own to restore Atlético's lead after a fierce comeback by Esplendido.

Re: AltLiga Season 2024-25

We won't be repeating last year, as we dropped our match against Sydney to sit firmly at the bottom of the table. We'll have a chance at restarting that streak back at home against Bastille, who are having a bit of a turnaround year after a mediocre one the previous season. Our highlighted player for this week is D Ethan Pinnock, who scored one goal on two shots for his offensive production, and was solid in the backfield for a tackle won, 2 interceptions, and 5 clearances.

Re: AltLiga Season 2024-25

Between injuries and ineffectiveness, we took a tough loss in Spain. On the bright side, we head back to The Pyramid for the next game, as we host Bukchon Hanok Stripes. This is our first matchup ever against the Tigers, as we looks to maintain a spot near the top of the table. The team didn't look great, but Mikkel Damsgaard was inserted into the Starting XI and responded by leading the team. #TheGoldStandard

Re: AltLiga Season 2024-25

We stopped Bastille dead in their tracks, now having won four out of our last five after a rather poor start to the year. We'll now travel from one end of the world to another, heading all the way up to Scotland to take on St. Mungo in Glasgow, who are not doing exceptionally even with the league's best striker in Erling Haaland. It will take a great keeper to stop him, and that's why we're featuring GK Jordan Pickford this week, who earned a clean sheet last week as well as 2 saves and 3 clearances.
