Eye of the Sun is not messing around this season, as we are one of two undefeated teams remaining, and we lead the AltLiga in scoring. We're undefeated against Joburg City 94 (they just scored more points than us in each matchup), so we're looking to maintain that streak, and maybe have this win be recognized by AltLiga. We'll be in the standard kits in this one, and are featuring defender Cristian Romero, as he had a great game last week, netting one of Eye's three goals. #TheGoldStandard

Matchweek 2 saw a much better 90 minutes from Atlético, but unfortunately, a worse result, as we take the loss in Munich. The good news is we get to finally head home and open up Camp Nou with a matchup against Amsterdam KVV. Like Barcelona, Amsterdam picked up a win to kick off the year but dropped their next matchup, so one team will have to break the trend. As for the match itself, we simply have to turn back to F Son Heung-Min, who scored a double on three shots on target, which somehow wasn't enough to beat Munich and their one goal. Not sure how that works. That aside, we finally get to break out our primary maroon kits this week! That's nice.

Needless to say it has not been a good starting two weeks for the folks in Johannesburg. The offense was unable to get going against Independencia, and as a result we find ourselves dead last in the table. Our first points may not come easy, as we have to face our biggest rival in Eye of the Sun (who we beaten in all three times because we have scored more points than them) at home. We made another few moves in the starting XI to restart the offense we had last year, headed by M Mohammed Kudus, who showed off his footwork last week with 6 successful contests and made a winning tackle last week.

The Falcons came out on top of our matchup with Joburg City 94, remaining in a tie with Sydney Harbour FC atop the table. It's early in the season, but every point counts, you know? So this week, we return to The Pyramid to host the top scoring team in the league, Olympique de Bastille. With the two top scoring teams facing off in this one, we'll need to be on top of our game. We're at home, so we're in the main kit, and we're highlighting Nicolas Jackson from last week, who was all over the field, notching a goal, challenging on balls in the air, and even picking up a yellow card! #TheGoldStandard

Atlético came out flat in our home opener, getting demolished by Amsterdam and leaving us parked at 3 points. We'll try to give the fans a better showing this time around, as we host Sydney Harbour. Unfortunately, SHFC happen to be one of the two remaining undefeated teams, so it'll be a tough test. One of our few bright spots last week was D Nathan Collins, who was effective on both ends, notching an assist on our only goal of the match, and piled up 3 blocked shots, 4 aerials, and 5 clearances on defense.

Eye of the Sun finally managed to beat us, though it was of more us beating ourselves since we've had a failure to launch the first three matchweeks. Hopefully the international break gave us the time needed to get back on track, as we head to Rome to play Alfa Roma, who are also near the bottom of the table. Unfortunately, we lost our captain due to an injury over the break, so its a bit of a shakeup to get something going. Featured from the last game is D Leif Davis, who showed some brief offense off the bench with 1 assist, 3 key passes, along with 2 tackles won and 2 clearances on the defensive side.

Another putrid outing from Atlético leaves us on a three-match pointless streak heading into Matchweek 5. Fortunately, unlike last week, this game will match us up with a team who is level with us in the standings, as we head out to Seoul for our first-ever matchup against Bukchon Hanok Stripes. Stripes have actually mirrored each other perfectly thus far, as we've both won our first match before dropping the ensuing three, so maybe we're headed for a draw this week? I'd take the point at this point. Speaking of points, F Dominic Calvert-Lewin may be our best chance to get some, as he scored Atlético's only goal of the match unassisted last week.

We finally won a game! And we did in style, crushing Roma 5 goals to 1 and putting up the most points of any team on the week. We have also moved up one spot from the basement, now welcoming the new basement dweller in Tokyo in our match this week at home. We're looking for a turnaround similar to last year, and the explosion on offense last week to continue into this one. F Jean-Philippe Mateta scored his first two goals of the year after a strong campaign last year and winning a silver at the Olympics.

I know it's late, but... Eye of the Sun FC did wear uniforms for our matchup with St. Mungo FC. They were the clash kits. Ederson is featured. #TheGoldStandard

Man, that did not go well at all. Atlético remains skidding, as Bukchon Hanok rolled all over us to hand us our fourth consecutive loss. Once again, though, we'll have a chance against a team with an identical record to us, as we welcome the other newly-promoted squad to Camp Nou. CF Federal also comes in with a four-game losing streak, so one of them will have to break this weekend. Earning the spotlight for this one is D Noussair Mazraoui, who was busy on the defensive end last time out, with 5 clearances, 3 successful contests, and 3 aerials.
